"What?! How is that possible?" I asked in confusion.
"I..I..have no idea" Zoe stuttered.
"How do you know she's dead?" I asked."I thought it was just a legend but... I can't believe it's true" Zoe said as he felt the edge of the frame with his fingertips.
"What legend? Tell me!" I urged him.
"Well, this is what I heard as I grew up, I have no proof of its authenticity. But to understand the story, you need to know more about this family'. For disclosing this information. I need a member of the royal family's approval." Zoe said.
Ruby and Charlie exchanged looks."How are we supposed to find someone from the royal family? I thought you were royal family." I added.
"No, I am a Bradbury. My full me is Lorenzo Bradbury. My sister Scarlett is married to a Laqouci. I need Charlie or Ruby's approval" Zoe said.
"You're royal family?!" I literally screamed at them.
They shrugged as a yes. Unbelievable. "Is there anything else that I need to know?" I asked nonchalantly.
"That's about it" Charlie answered.
"Well then, Zoe needs your approval to tell me about the legend. So, do you approve." I questioned.
"We have to, because, even we haven't heard about it. I mean, we know our family rules this little kingdom but that's it. So, Zoe, if you could go ahead and start, that would be appreciated." Ruby answered eagerly.
"Well alright then, remember, this is just what I was told." Zoe started.
"Okay, just start before her parent come home" Charlie urged.
"The story goes, 300 years ago, in a little kingdom called Port Blorenge, there was a queen named DeVichiria Laqouci. She was best friends with the queen of the neighbouring kingdom, Ardelia. A queen named Ethilyn, ruled Ardelia. Their friendship was described as 'inseparable'. While Ardelia, was home to all the supernatural creatures that walked the earth, Port Blorenge was different. The witches ruled the kingdom. The royal family was just a puppet. The witches were said to be immortal, that way, they always stayed in power. The supernatural creatures of Ardelia weren't welcome by the witches. But Queen Ethilyn tried to prove that they have evolved. That they were no longer creatures of abomination. But the witches weren't ready to believe her. So, as a symbol of peace, Queen Ethilyn gifted a whole bunch of magically blessed objects to Port Blorenge. Few months later, Queen Ethilyn fell ill. The whole of Port Blorenge was devastated. Then she died in a couple of days." Zoe ended.
"That's it?!" I asked.
"Well, some people believed that she was killed, others still believe that she will return and bring back peace in Ardelia. And the witches in Blorenge then moved to Ardelia. Well, most of them did." Zoe added.
"What about DeVichiria? How did she die?" Charlie questioned.
"No one really knows anything about that. About 20 years after her best friends death, she died on the same day of her friends death anniversary. At least that's what I was told." Zoe added.
"Then who would send this to me now?" I asked.
"Someone must've really wanted you to come to know about your abilities." Zoe replied.
"Yeah, but who? DeVichiria is clearly dead. Must've been someone else then." I replied as I thought about who it could be.
"I don't have the answer to that question now but I can help you figure it out. I heard about your abilities and I think I can teach you how to use it to your advantage." Zoe said.
"Really? You could do that?" I asked excitedly.
"Yes. All abilities can be mended and trained to be used in advantage of its owner. But it won't be easy" Zoe said in a serious tone.
"Well, let's get started. What are you waiting for?" I asked.
"We can't just get started. You have to wait until your next vision. That's when your most powerful". Zoe explained
"Powerful?! I could hardly stand up straight when I have an episode and its side effects are awful. I was admitted to the hospital after my first episode." I protested.
"That's because you weren't used to it. It get easier. You will be able to control it in no time." Zoe said.
"Well, I certainly hope so." I added.
Suddenly, the power went off. All the lights went off as well. I couldn't even see the others as it was pretty dark and the sun had already set. I tried not to panic and stood still.
All the others did the same. I heard a slight creaking that creeped me out instantly. All the doors were locked. Is someone trying to break in?
Zoe told me not to panic but I don't think I can for much longer.
Charlie and Ruby yelled, "Look out" simultaneously.
I turned around to see what they meant. No sooner did I turn than when I felt a strong metal object swung against my head. The blow was very painful. I could faintly hear the others calling my name.
I lost balance and fell on my back. My head hit the floor and I felt warm liquid near the side of my face.
My head got heavier and heavier by the second. It was a pain to keep my eyes open.
I could feel the three of them running towards me. Slowly, I felt my eyes droop and my head fall to the side as I had a severely painful concussion.
Phew, this was a very intense chapter to write😫 and I hope you enjoyed reading it👌.
