Chapter-10. Special

Feeling like your head is going to explode is one thing, calling that a special power is another.

"Look, even if whatever you're telling is true, who's reincarnation am I?" I asked them.

"That is still in the 'work in progress' section" Charlie added, "But before that, we have to look into the 'frame' section".

Talking about the frame with them wasn't the most comfortable thing. I was hiding the fact that someone from their family had sent it because if they knew that they may not tell me the complete truth about it. They are very shady and not very friendly if you hadn't noticed.

"Why did you just do that?" Ruby questioned me.

"Do what? I didn't do anything" I replied in confusion.

"Your heartbeat just jumped. Are you lying to us about something?" Ruby asked suspiciously.

"No!!!Waking up in a dark dungeon with a bunch of werewolves ought to make a girl scared!!!" I snapped. And also didn't have to answer Ruby's question.

"Your heartbeat was steady until Charlie mentioned the frame. Don't try to trick me. You are hiding something from us and I know it. Just for the record, I have been treating you really well and if you fail to co-operate, I won't treat you very well," Ruby said in a threatening manner.

"You call this treating well?" I snapped. This is technically kidnapping. I can't believe Ruby said that.

Ruby sighed and clearly, she looked irritated, "You know our secret and now we can do one of two things. You can either co-operate or you can stay in this dungeon forever. You will be tied up, starved; critters will run all over you and one day, you will just beg for a glimpse of nothing more than sunlight." Ruby threatened me.

"Why are you threatening me? I don't get it. I swear I won't tell anyone your little secret. Please let me out of here." I practically begged.

"Tell us whatever you are hiding and then we will let you out. It is that simple." Ruby replied nonchalantly.

"I told you everything I know," I replied.

"Yeah?! Was that before or after your little freak show in the girl's room?! Because what I remember is that you were stalling instead of answering my questions. Now tell me! How do you know that the necklace was connected?!" Ruby snapped again. She is a really angry person and she is very intimidating.

"The frame! The same symbol is on the frame. I researched it on my laptop and found out that when someone wears the pendant it is usually for protection from something. As I already guessed that you were werewolves I thought it must have some connection," I told them the truth because, on the look of how things were going, it was either the truth or forever dungeon. And I am pretty sure that Ruby was serious about it. Because the way she threatened me in the girl's room when we first met was enough evidence of her violent behavior. But I still did not tell them about DeVichiria Laqouci. Because I couldn't risk not knowing everything about the frame's origin.

"Well then, I want to see it" Ruby replied nonchalantly.

God! This bipolarity seems to run in the family. One second she is a psycHo threatening me, the next second she is as calm as a cucumber. This is scary. I didn't think I will ever trust either of them.

However, on the other hand, I was kind of excited. If they could help me find the truth about the frame, I would be very relieved. I can't stop thinking about why a stranger would send such a thing to me. Technically, she isn't a stranger because, I kind of know her family. Maybe this is what she wanted me to do, seek help from her family.

"Your place", Ruby added.

"Okay, but I don't want anyone else to know about any of this" I replied.

"We won't tell anyone if you don't expose our secret. Deal?" Charlie said from behind Ruby. It was very dark, I couldn't see her properly, it seemed like she was talking from behind the shadows.

"Deal" I replied.

"But I want to know more" I added.

"More of what?" Charlie asked confusedly.

"More about you. More about the creatures that hunt in the dark. More about your secret and that pendant." I replied.

"We will give you more information only when you give us something about this frame. I don't see why we shouldn't start now." Ruby replied.

" Are you kidding me? I want out of this hell hole before I say anything. Why are you so interested in this stupid frame anyways?" I asked in a tone slightly harsher than I meant.

"That is none of your business. You will be out before sunrise tomorrow. But, we don't trust you. We will appoint someone, a bodyguard maybe, to make sure you don't expose our secrets." Ruby replied silently.

"A bodyguard?" I asked in confusion.

"That is what you will tell anyone who asks. Technically, he will be someone to keep you on a leash." Ruby replied.

"A leash? What am I, a dog? I don't want anyone to 'keep me on a leash'. I won't expose your secrets if you tell me more. That was the deal" I snapped.

"You will have someone following you around all day. You will not expose anything. End of discussion" Ruby yelled.

"I will meet you at school tomorrow" Charlie replied in pity.

I don't know what just happened. I don't know where I am. I don't understand why this frame is so important to them. All I know is that both of them walked towards the main door and left the place. Leaving me in company with the darkness and dread.
