Judge's comments: Cut to the bone was a story that grabbed my attention right away. I look for a few things in fantasy books: a good storyline, originality and great worldbuilding. This story had it all and was wrapped in a very pleasant writing style. The story reminded me of The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, who is a great inspiration to me. The characters were very well developed and I liked them right away. Each chapter left me wanting more and I couldn't put it down.
