~Lexee's P.O.V~

"Honey, come downstairs!" My mother yelled to me just as she came inside the house through the door. I placed the pen on the desk beside my maths book and started making my way downstairs.

"Hello my beautiful mother." I said to her and gave her a side hug. She replied with one of her wide smiles and gestured for me to sit on the couch while she takes out the groceries.

I take my phone from my pocket as I plop down on the  couch and start scrolling through my Instagram feed.
Soon enough my mother joins me on the couch and I place my phone on the coffee table.

"So what's up?" I ask her as I sat criss-cross on the couch. She let out a worried sigh and looked up at me. I have a feeling this isn't going to be good news.

"Well.." She starts and the worried look on my face slowly becomes more and more visible. I nod for her to continue and show that I'm listening.
"I got promoted." She quickly said. A large smile replaced my frown and I lightly jumped up.
"That's great, mom!" I said and clapped my hands. She let out a chuckle.
"I know! They told me that now I'll have to take pictures of actual models rather than regular people for their licenses because I'm a, so called, professional." She said and laughed.
"Your photography skills are freacking amazing, what do you mean!" I said and laughed along. When our laugher died down, her face furned serious again.
"The thing is... we have to move because of it." She told me. The words just fell out of her mouth. I was in shock after hearing it. Move out? What? Where? My thoughts shot me all of these different questions.
"To where?" I asked all curious.
"Oh, you're gonna love this!" She started getting excited. I wasn't excited, at all. What's so exciting about leaving my friends? Leaving the place that I grew up in?
"Tell me where." I said to her and she smiled.
"We're moving to LA!" She slightly yelled. My jaw was probably on the floor from hearing it.
"To Los Angeles?" I asked, just to make sure I heard her correctly. She nodded her head furiously.
"That's.. great!" I said, making my mom get even more excited. I place my phone back in my pocket, knowing that I'll need it later.

If my mom would tell me these news about a year back, I would be stoked to get out of here. I always wanted to live in LA. I wanted to experience the constantly hot weather, I wanted to look at hot boys and flirt with them as I walk by the beach. I would be able to get away from Ethan and his chaos. I would be having the time of my life. But now, that I'm with Ethan, I'm not as excited as my mom is. I know that her job means a lot to her and that she has a thing for photography, but I can't just leave everyone behind.

"I'm gald that you're excited as well, sweetie. I was really hoping that you weren't gonna take this quite well, you proved me wrong, young lady." She said to me with a laugh. I stiffled a laugh as well.
"Well, I'm just glad that you get to have your dream job." I said and she pulled me in a hug, catching me by surprise.
"Thank you, Lexee, for not being so bummed about this." She said and I could feel her smile against my shoulder. I hugged her back and lightly patted her back. I then decided that it would be a good time to tell my mom about Ethan & I, since we're just telling all of the news here.
"It's no biggy. Um.. mom.." My voice started to come out unsure.
"What is it, dear?" She asked me as she walked to the kitchen, me following behind her.
"Um, so, you know Ethan, right?" I asked her. She nodded and shot me a confused look.
"We're dating." I suddenly blurted out, causing my mom to widen her eyes.
"I knew it!" She yelled and laughed as well.
"What?" I asked her, confused as to what in the world is happening.
"I knew that you two are dating. A mother knows everything, sweetie." She said and laughed. I just awkwardly smiled at her.
"Lexee, we'll be leaving next week. Make sure to pack your needed items. We'll be selling this house." My mom informs me and I just nod, thinking of how I'll be able to tell my friends that I'm leaving, perhaps forever.

"I'm going up to my room, I have to finish the homework." I say to my mom and shoot her a soft smile. She nods and I take off to my room.

I shut the door and plop down on my bed, face-first. I take a quick glance at the clock on my nightstand as I lift my head up.

5.36 p.m

I grabbed my phone from my pocket and pressed on Ethan's contact to send him a message.

To Etee 🐢❤ : yo, wanna hang later?

From Etee 🐢❤ : sure, when?

To Etee 🐢❤: around 8 p.m, pick me up then.

From Etee 🐢❤: anything for my little princess. ❤

I read the last message and smiled to myself from it. I then exited the messaging app and locked my phone.

I continued to finish up my homework to which I'm surprised that I'm even doing it.
