Today is graduation. I've finally finished school. My family had a party yesterday and I got money to "start my new life." My mom says that doesn't mean to spend it on Runescape which admittedly I have already spent quite a lot on the Premier Club. It's a good investment. In all seriousness I need all the money I can get to move to California. Which I'm still doing, I guess my family thought I wasn't gonna go through with it. I planned on getting a job to start to save up but then I would have less time to do nothing and procrastinate homework. That sounds a little too much for me.
Anyways, I meet up with Tucker, Arin, and Danny at my house. We drive to the arena where our graduations are being held. We go to the backstage where technically Danny isn't suppose to be at but I think it fits in with us. They call the names one by one. Their families cheer when the kid's name is said. Finally, they call my name and I walk onstage shaking hands with people I honest to God not know and receive my diploma. After all the names are called and speeches are given we are dismissed. I meet up with my family in the parking lot exchanging hugs. I'm so caught up with everything I don't even realize that Ryan is standing behind me. I basically scream and hug him tightly. He kisses me on the cheek. I see Mia too.
"I didn't know you were coming."
"Well we didn't plan it until last minute and we figured you would already be so stressed with everything you wouldn't have to worry about us." Mia says.
They wouldn't have stressed me out but I just smile in return.
"How long are you staying here?"
"A week. That's when you're moving right? Next Saturday?"
I nod my head. I hear my mom sighing.
"We're gonna miss you here, Matthew."
"Mom. I'm gonna miss you too, and I will visit all the time."
She gives me another hug like it's the last she's ever gonna see of me.
The week passes faster than I ever thought. No matter how much you think you're prepared, you're not. I say goodbyes to my family and friends. Tucker, Arin and Danny all said they want to move to LA. I kind of hope that happens. I get in my car with Ryan in the passenger seat.
"This is it." I say
Ryan grabs my hand.
"Everything will be fine."
I nod and drive off. Leaving my town kind of feels like I'm leaving my whole childhood.
"Hey, Matt."
I turn to see Ryan with a vape pen.
"I'm ripping fat clouds dude." iHe says and he takes in a hit for way to long and coughing it up.
"I hate you."
"Vape Nation for life."
"Why did you even get one."
"For the epic memes bro. I got swag just using it."
"That is one of the worst sentences I've ever heard in my life."
"It's actually Mountain Dew flavor. I'm not kidding."
"No fucking way."
"I'm serious! I got it from Puff Vapors."
"Puff Vapors? That is awful."
"I know." Ryan goes into one of his classic laughing fits.
"I've missed your laugh. It seriously needs to be like documented."
"Let's start a YouTube channel for my laugh."
"That's not bad of an idea. Well the laughing aspect, yes. But we should start a YouTube channel."
"On god?"
"Yeah. What should we call it?" I ask
"I don't know. Something super mega gay."
"What about just SuperMega."
