Chapter 1

((Melody POV))

I flew slowly through the shire, searching for the door with a certain mark. "Bloody hell....where is this blasted door!" I said stopping out of frustration. I turned and looked at each door...nothing. "Oh my I'm going to be so late." I muttered.

You see, I received a letter from Gandalf informing me to fly half across middle earth to the shire to go on an adventure he has given me NO INFORMATION ABOUT! However I had no choice. I have given Gandalf my eternal servitude after he saved my life from a warg who could have eaten me whole. I looked at the silver shackle around my wrist and smiled, for you see i did not mind being a slave to Gandalf, when a faerie grants their servitude it is not by force, it is out of the feeling they they would be honored to serve and or protect their master. That is how it has always been. This is how it shall always be. I have not seen Gandalf in a very long time, excited to see him was an understatement.

I searched through the entire shire before coming across the door with the glowing mark. I landed my feet on the ground and knocked softly on the door as I threw on my cloak covering my wings from sight.

A small hobbit opened the door. "Melody Claw...at your service." I said bowing. I looked up at him and smiled. "W-welcome...are you a hobbit?" He asked confused by my height. "Nope." I said walking past him.

This hobbit hole was nice, very homey. I pulled back my hood allowing my long untamed white hair with blue on the tips of my long side bangs that curled just under my eye to fall down my back. I looked back at the hobbit. "May I ask your name?" I said politely. "Bilbo Baggins, pleasure." I smiled and nodded. "Do you by any chance have any tea?" I asked, he nodded gesturing for me to follow him. As I did so I realized the amount of noise coming from the dining room. I strayed away from bilbo to peak by head into the dining room to find a group of 12 very loud and very rambunctious dwarves. I couldn't help but laugh as I watched the large one catch some food in his mouth making everyone cheer. I laughed and suddenly everyone was silent at the sound of my very girly laugh. "Oh uh...hello." I said giving a nervous smile. One with sandy blond hair and a braided beard handed me a large pint of ale and had me join in a toast. They all clinked their mugs waiting for me to ram mind into the group as well. I shrugged my shoulders and clinked by glass and proceeded to chug down as much beer as my tiny form could handle. They all stopped and watched as I continued to chug and slam my mug down on the table when finished. I wiped my mouth and smiled at the group only to see them smile back.

"Who might this lovely lass be?" The dwarf with the tattooed head said. "Oh I'm-" I was cut off. "My dear you've made it!" I turned to see Gandalf. "GANDALF!" I shrieked in joy flying from the ground and hugging the Wizard. I heard gasps behind me and turned to see the dwarves staring in awe and confusion at my wings. "Oh...um..." I tuned back to Gandalf for help on how to explain myself. "I shall explain her later." All the dwarves nodded slowly and continued eating as though nothing was wrong. "Hey! Come sit by us!" I tuned to see the sandy blonde dwarf and the brunette who had a very heartwarming smile. I flew over the table and sat between them. They seemed surprised at how smaller I was than them. "Hello~" I said smiling at them. They offered me some bread and I gladly took it. "I'm Fili," the sandy blond dwarf stated, "and I'm Kili." The brunette said. I looked at them with my mouth full of bread and mumbled my name. "I'm sorry we couldn't hear you." I forcefully swallowed. "I'm sorry. I'm Melody, pleasure." They both smiled. "I'm just guessing here...but are you two brothers?" I asked curiously, they looked like brothers...at least that's what I thought. "Yes, we are!" Kili said with a laugh. I giggled and looked up at him shyly....they where both so cute. I continued to eat until I noticed them looking at my wings. "They are beautiful...your wings I mean. I've never seen someone like you before." Fili said in awe. "What are you?" Kili asked. I smiled and looked up at the handsome dwarf once again "I'm a Faerie." They nodded and stood to go get more beer. I happily ate my bread and drank my tea and spoke with a few other dwarves who soon had a belching contest...the one named Ori blew a huge one. I suddenly heard the dwarves pounding and hitting the forks and knives against eachother. "Could you please not do that! You'll blunt them!" Bilbo shouted. I laughed watching this all happen. "Oh! Ya hear that lads? He says we'll blunt the knives!" Bofur said. Suddenly dishes where flying through the house and they began singing

"Blunt the knives bend the knives bend the forks!

Smash the bottles and burn the corks!"

Drop the glasses and crack the plates...that's what Bilbo Baggins hates!"

I was crying of laughter and decided to join in. Kili was throwing dishes to me and I effortlessly kicked them to another dwarf, enjoying watching Bilbo run around worried out of his mind.
