((Melody's POV))
I woke up from sun shining onto my face, I turned and pushed my face into a pillow....that was breathing? I sat up and saw it was Thorin...naked stunningly handsome Thorin. I hadn't been up long enough to remember what had happened last night, but the second I looked at him it all came back. I smiled and laid back down hugging his arm. I felt him move and looked to see him slightly open one eye. I giggled and hugged his arm tighter. "Goodmorning my love." He said in a deep rough voice. Oh my god....his morning voice has to be the sexiest thing I have every heard in my life. "Goodmorning master Thorin." I said. He looked at me then threw his other arm over his eyes. "You do not need to say master anymore." My eyes widened then I nodded. He sat up and stretched his arms up. I watched all of his muscles stretch and I ran my fingertips down his side in awe. "Your so strong..." I said then listened to him laugh. "Thank you." He said before he lifted me into his lap. I leaned against him and sighed...I've never been so happy. We heard a knock at the door and Thorin gently set me on the bed before wrapping some sheets around his waist to cover himself up before answering opening the door. I snuggled back under the lush blankets and closed my eyes. "Yes. Thank you." Thorin said before closing the door. He stretched and walked over to his clothes and started getting getting dressed. "Wait!" I said before jumping out of the bed, I grabbed his fur coat and brought it to him. "You can't forget this! It's the best part." I said laughing. I put the coat on him and he smiled. Then I realized...I was still naked. I blushed and crossed my arms over my chest. There was a other knock at the door and Thorin answered. "Thank you." Thorin shut the door and came back with my clothes, they where was clean and smelled nice. I grinned taking them and re wrapped the cloth around my chest then slipped on the dress. I looked at Thorin who was looking at his new sword. I wandered over and sat I front of the mirror and saw how messy my hair was. The braid the elven woman had made was gone. I took a chunk of hair and tired to braid it. I groaned in frustration gaining Thorin's attention. "What's the matter?" He said walking up behind me. "Why can't I braid hair?! It's so hard!!" Thorin laughed at me and sat down beside me. "Would you like me to braid it?" I looked at Thorin in shock. "You can braid hair?!" He nodded and held up his braids. "Who did you think braided my hair? Fili?" I laughed "well I mean with how many braids he has I wouldn't be surprised." Thorin laughed before combing through my hair to get all of the knots out. He grabbed some hair that was right in front of my ear then pushed the rest back. He braided it then used a small metal thing to hold it in place at the end. I looked in the mirror and realized he did the same braid he has in his hair. "I love it!! Can you do the other side??" I asked and he smiled and nodded. Doing the same thing on the other side, I let my bangs fall to cover the top of the left braid and smiled. I turned around and hugged Thorin tightly, "thank you!" He hugged me back and nodded. "Are we leaving soon?" I asked looking at my braids once again in the mirror. "Yes, we're leaving just as soon as your ready." I nodded and conjured my wings back and floated above the air. "Well...I'm ready." I said flying over to meet him at the door.
We went down the hall to meet where the other dwarves where. I flew next to Thorin then decided to walk. I looked over out at the view of rivendells vally. Suddenly I felt Thorin grab my hand, lacing his fingers with mine. I smiled and held his hand tightly. We saw the dwarves up ahead and they saw us. When we got there Thorin got quite a few pats on the back, I couldn't help but giggle at his stern reaction.
We left rivendell, I flew above all the dwarves and made sure the path was safe. After a while of flying I landed next to Fili and Kili and started talking with them. "So, you and Thorin?" Kili said with a wide smile. "Yes....what about Throin and I" Fili laughed, "I hope you realize that now he's going to be a hell of a lot more protective over you." I nodded slowly. "I guess I could expect that." I said nervously laughing. "Melody!" I heard Thorin say from the front of the group. I quickly flew and landed next to him. He gave me a smile that warmed my heart. I reached and grabbed his hand.
((Thorin POV))
I walked beside Melody with her hand in mine, my grip tightened as we started to walk along the side of a mountain. I felt a drop of rain hit my head. "Oh no..." I heard Melody say. "What is it?" She looked at me with a worried look and pulled her cloak out of her back and covered her wings. "I can't fly in the rain..." She said with a hint of grief. The rain started to down pour "we must find shelter!" I yelled and grabbed onto Melody's wrist. Suddenly we heard a loud crash and saw a large boulder being thrown towards the mountain we where on. The we say them.... "The ledgends are true," I heard Bofur say. "Giants! Stone giants!!" He yelled as the giant threw another large boulder towards us. Suddenly we felt the mountain move. The rock separated. Melody was pulled away from me, "THORIN!" She screamed and was about to jump to me but Fili held her back, not wanting her to fall. "NO!" I yelled watching the group as they where swung away from us. Melody had pure terror on her face, as did Kili beside me. We all did. The stone giant we where on stood and was soon hit in the head with a boulder. It fell and I watched as the leg Melody and Fili and the others where on was being swung towards the mountain fast. It crashed into the mountain and I could feel my heart shatter as I watched the leg pull away...but they where not on it. "MELODY!" I screamed as we all ran towards them.To my hearts rest we found them unharmed. Sadly Melody had been thrown with Bombur on top of her. "Agh! I can't breath!" She said struggling to get him off her. I reached and pulled her out from under Bombur and hugged her tightly. "I thought I lost you!" I felt her shake in my arms. She refused to look up at me...I knew she was crying. "Bilbo! Where's Bilbo!" I heard Bofur said. We saw him hanging off the side. I ran from Melody and jumped down to push him up. Though when I climbed back up I lost my footing and was grabbed by Dwalin who pulled me up. I thanked him and walked back to Melody and encased her in my arms. I was a mad she refused to look at me. "I thought we lost our burglar." Bofur said, I scowled at Bilbo. "He's been lost...ever since he left home." I said walking towards the cave pulling Melody with me.
We all settled into the cave and I looked to see Melody sitting at the entrance. She hasn't spoken to me. "She's probably in shock." Balin said coming up behind me. "Why won't she talk to me though? I haven't done anything wrong." I said and frustratedly sat down. "Thorin...she almost died. She would have leaped from that ledge to you if Fili hadn't held her back. She was hardly breathing and scared out of her mind. I feel sorry for the lass." Balin sighed and left to go sleep. I looked at Melody sitting with her knees pulled to her chin. I watched her stand and walk out into the rain. She just stood there at the very edge, I was worried she would fall. I sighed and walked to the entrance. "Melody come back in." I said offering my hand. She nodded and turned to walk back then the mountain shook and the rock beneath her crumbled. I watched I horror as she slipped right off of the mountain. "MELODY!" I screamed running to the edge, I saw her holding onto the mountain but her fingers where slipping. "Hold on!" I yelled and reached as far down at I could. Before I could reach her she fell. I watched in horror as I watched Melody fall. I felt frozen, then I saw two large egle wings fan out. I lost sight if her through the rain. I could feel tears brimming my eyes as I couldn't tear myself away from that ledge. Dwalin, Fili and Kili came running out. "Where's Melody?!" Kili yelled. I couldn't bring myself to speak. "Did she fall?? What happened." Fili said I nodded. "I'm not worried. She's a strong girl, I'm sure she'll be okay." Dwalin said before walking back into the cave. I looked at his back in pure rage. Kili and Fili grabbed my arms. "Dwalin is right! She's lived her whole life defending herself, she'll be okay..." Fili said. I calmed down and nodded. I turned to look at the edge, I still couldn't see her. "Please me strong my love....please live." I said before walking back into the cave.
I couldn't sleep, my heart was in pain and I couldn't feel anything different from grief and anguish. All i could see was the terrified look Melody gave me before she fell. I listened to Bilbo and Bofurs conversation. "Your home sick, I understand." Bofur said. "No no your don't! Your used to this! Traveling constantly not belonging anywhere!" Silence... "I'm....I'm sorry I didn't mean that." Bilbo said. "No....your right. I wish you all the luck in the world, I really do." Bofur said. " what's that?" Bofur continued. I sat up at the sound of sand draining. "Wake up! Wake up!" I yelled seeing a line of sand fall. Suddenly the floors gave out and we fell down into a cage. We heard loud disgusting screeches and saw grotesque creatures running towards us. Goblins.
