Thorin POV

I was utterly speachless. "M-Melody...are you sure?" I asked taking her hands. She nodded then summoned her wings. "Look, their shimmering...that means I'm pregnant." She choked. "Melody..." I said. I tried to think of words to say but nothing could come out. "Do you want it?" She whispered barely audible. "What?" I asked. "Do, you, want, it?" she asked again, her eyes watering. "Of course I want it! Why wouldn't I?" I asked. Melody stood, "I don't know...with your quest and all...that's certainly not going to be over by the time the baby would come." She said. "Wait what? How long does a faerie pregnancy take?" I asked. "One month. Our internal energy is so powerful that it caused the baby to grow and develop much faster than any dwarf, elf, hobbit or human." She said. I laughed slightly. Before standing and taking the hand of my beautiful Faerie. "Melody, I would love nothing more than to have a handsome son, or a beautiful daughter with you." I said. I watched her lips curve into a smiled before she hugged me tightly. "I love you Thorin" she whispered. "I love you too." I kneeled down and looked at her stomach, I pulled her dress up to revile it. "Thorin!" She shrieked. "Ain't nothing I haven't seen before lass." I said, earning a full hearted laugh. I gently pressed my lips to her stomach, "I'll be waiting when you get here." I whispered before letting her dress fall and standing up. I gently pulled her chin up and pressed my lips to hers. "Our child will be perfect." I said. Melody nodded and rubbed her stomach, "and I promise you, I will be here always, to help you." I said reassuring her. Melody nodded and held my knuckles up to her lips, kissing them gently. "Thank you..." She said. I held her close to me and stayed quiet. "Thorin..." She said quietly. "Yes?" I replied. "Can...can you do something for me and just say yes to it without arguing." She asked. I looked at her. "What is the intention of this thing?" I asked. "The intention is to give our baby...more protection for when he or she comes." She said. I nodded, "what is it?" I asked. "I was Cosset and Corus to join the company. Cosset is astonishingly brilliant with healing magic and her knowledge of middle earth and what it holds, and Corus is an unbelievable fighter. She's stronger than me because she can control her powers better than I. They would in no way slow us down...and I miss them Thorin. I was gone for so long...I don't want to leave them again." She said. I thought about it for a moment and nodded. "Of course they can come. I would be honored to have your kin in my company." I said. "Oh Thorin thank you so much!!!!!" She squealed jumping up hugging me tightly. "I love you so much!" She cried. I laughed and hugged her waist, keeping her lifted off the ground. "I love you too my beautiful queen." I said. She pulled back and pressed her lips to mine gently. "I'm so happy I met you..." She said looking into my eyes. "As I am you." I said kissing her once again.

Melody and I walked out into the large open quad that was quite quiet since mostly everyone was inside various buildings, save for a few fairies here and there. I glanced over at one of the ponds and stopped, seeing small glowing blue orb like creatures. (((They look like the whisps from brave))). "Melody," I said. "Hm?" She asked. "What are those?" I asked pointing. She gasped happily and smiled before flittering over and getting down and sitting on her knees. "Sit down, you'll scare them." She whispered. I did as told and sat beside her. She reached out and cupped her hands before lifting one toward us. "Their sprites. They care for all nature. Some care for our trees and grass, others out flowers. This little guy cares for our water, keeps it clean and fresh." She said. "How do you know it's a boy? And a water one?" I asked. "Well, one, he's blue, so that tells me that he is a water sprite. Since he is a dimmer shade of blue that tells me he's a boy." She said. "Ah, here." She said before she reached out and gently lifted one out of the water. This one was a very bright shade of blue. "A girl?" I asked. She nodded. "Sprites tend to find a home here because faerie's welcome and treat them with kindness." She said. She gently set them back into the water and stood up. "So, you said there where different kinds?" I asked. She nodded, "come here...I'll show you florist sprites." She said taking my and pulling me into a beautiful garden full of every flower imaginable. We saw an elderly man working on them. "Hello Mr. Pikilar!" Melody greeted. "Why Queen Melody, I haven't seen you in ages." He said taking off his hat and flittering toward us. "And who is this?" He asked looking at me with a kind grin. "I am Thorin Oakenshield, King of the dwarves of Erebor." I said holding out my hand. He smiled and shook it, "well then, welcome to my garden." He said. "Your garden?" I asked. "Well, it was my wife's. However after she passed away it was really the only living part of her I have left." He said with a smile. I saw love in his eyes for this garden. "Well...your doing a beautiful job of keeping it nice." I said. "Thank you your highness." He said bowing his head. "So~ I was wondering if you happened to have any sprites wandering around here would you?" Melody asked. "Oh yes, they are over by the roses." He said. "Lovely!" Melody said before taking my hand and leading me over. She landed on the ground and looked through the rose bush. "Little buggers, these ones are harder to see...and catch." She said before her hand darted and she lifted up a bright red one with tiny little feet scrambling about. "This one, is a boy!" she smiled. It suddenly ran up her arm and sat on her shoulder. I smiled looking at the tiny glowing creature on my beloveds shoulder. "Wanna hold him?" She asked. My eyes widened. "Wh-what? Would he allow that?" I asked. "I don't see why not he is very nice, usually the florist ones bite, hold out your hand." She said. I held out my hand reluctantly before she set him into my hand. "It feels like I'm holding a flower petal." I said smiling. "The water ones feel like mist~" she said smiling. Suddenly we heard music being played loudly and the sprite in my hand disappeared. I was shocked but Melody stood and held a hand out to me. "I suppose it's time for dinner~" she said happily as she flittered her wings and floated beside me. We made our way to a very large glass building, it was laced with vines, flowers and plants. On the inside there where large tables filled with faerie's and one at the front filled with dwarves and Cosset and Corus. "I missed home...so much..." I heard Melody say beside me landing on the ground. I looked down at her and saw a shimmering tear run down her cheek. "What's wrong with your tear?" I asked slightly concerned. She laughed and wiped it away. "It's a tear of happiness. Faerie's, there are a lot of things that can show their emotions, varying from their hair, wings, sometimes skin, and sometimes tears. When I'm so happy I cry...my tears shimmer." She said looking up at me. "Wow...can you tell me more about your people later? It's absolutely fascinating." I asked honestly. She looked at me surprised and smiled. "O-of course!!" She said smiling ear to ear. "Oh wait hold on come here," she said pulling me away from the building before anyone inside could see us. "What?" I asked. "I can't go in there dressed like this," she said before her hands began to glow white. She shot a silky looked layer of white over her body, when it disappeared she was left in a beautiful white dress with an elegant cape over her shoulders. "Melody...you look regal..." I said looking at the dress and how perfectly it fit her body. She giggled and kissed my cheek. "Thank you my love, now come on. I'm starving~ and I'm sure you are too." She said taking my hand and walking back to the building. "Queen Melody! King Thorin!" Someone said the second we came into view, I was surprised they mention me as well. She waved as we made our way to the head of they table full of the company, and the two soon to be members who where chatting it up with my nephews. "I bet they'll get married." Melody giggled as she looked at them while sitting down. "Wait...if we get married wouldnt that mean they have the same blood as you since your sister is their mother? So...they would be marring their cousins?" I asked. She shook her head, "they have absolutely none of my blood. Oh, okay here's a good way to explain it. When our little one is born he will have strictly our blood, no grandparents or genes from anyone in the family. So Technically I'm not related to Cosset or Corus in the slightest. So no, they wouldn't be cousins because they aren't related to me. Does that make sense?" She asked, I nodded, "well then I suppose that's a relief." I said looking at them. Corus and Fili where showing each other their daggers and Kili and Cosset where talking about some potions Cosset made. "Well, I suppose we should make the announcement about Cosset and Course?" I asked. Melody nodded and stood. She tapped her glass lightly making a ringing noise and everyone silenced to hear the queen speak. "Hello everyone...first of all I can not describe the joy of seeing my home, and my people again." She said, the people cheered, clapped, and whistled. "However I will be leaving tomorrow morning to completely the promise I made to help the Dwarves of Erebor reclaim their homeland!" She said proudly, everyone cheered. "Though I will be taking two specific faerie's with me..." She said. Everyone looked at each other. "I ask, Cosset, and Corus to join the company of Thorin Oakenshield to help us reclaim the mountain. Will you join us?" I asked. They looking at each other then at Kili and Fili. "Yes!!" They said simultaneously standing. I smiled, "wonderful!! Well, now that that is done. Everyone eat, sing, dance, and party until your wings drop!!" She said smiling causing everyone to stand and cheer. She sat back down and smiled at me. "You did wonderfully." I said. I looked and saw Cosset, Kili, Fili, and Corus smiling at each other and talking excitedly about the journey. Kili and Fili where telling them all that had happened so far. We where given food and wine and ate and talked about each other's people and home. I had to admit...I hadn't been this happy and at peace in a while.

After a long time of talking, dancing and singing Melody and I grew tired and started off back to her bedroom. "Hey! Girls!" She said as we saw Cosset and Corus. "I need you two packed by tomorrow morning alright? And set all the dwarves up with brand new weapons and clothes." She said. "Got it!" Corus said before shoving her sister off and they both ran off. "I'm so excited for them to come..." She said smiling. "As am I," I said wrapping an arm around her shoulder. We entered her bedroom and yawned. "I feel dirty." Melody mumbled. "Same." I replied. I saw a loving grin come over her features. "Would you like to take a bath?" She asked. "Well yes su-" I said before she cut me off, pressing her body to mine resting her hands on my chest. "With me~?" She asked. I smiled, "if I ever turn that down...punch me as hard as you can." I said making her laugh. "Got it!" She snickered before flying to the bathroom and running water into the large tub, that could indeed easily fit us both.

I sat relaxed in the water, my back against the tub. Melody sat between my legs with her back against my torso and her eyes closed. she was singing softly to herself.

"Jumping up and down the floor,
My head is an animal.
And once there was an animal,
It had a son that mowed the lawn."

I knew this song, I learned it when I was a child. When she stopped singing I sang the next lines.

"The son was an ok guy,
They had a pet dragonfly.
The dragonfly it ran away,
But it came back with a story to say."

I sang, she looked back at me shocked and grinned.

"Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees."

She sang to me.

"The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.
The birds, they got help from below,
From dirty paws and the creatures of snow."

I sang smiling. She laughed and turned to me, sitting on her knees facing me. She laced her hands with mine and smiled, her hair falling to cover her breasts. I smiled at her as we sang together.

"And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes.
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines."

We sang, not taking our eyes off each other.

"But she and her furry friends
Took down the queen bee and her men.
And that's how the story goes,"

We sang as she leaned closely to me, her lips inches from mine.

"The story of the beasts with those four dirty paws."

She sang before pecking my lips. I grinned, "I haven't heard it since I was a child." I said. "I love that song." She said. "It's always been my favorite song from my childhood...my mother used to sing it to me before I went to sleep." She said. "As did mine." I said. She looked at me sadly, "we have a lot more in common than I thought." She said with a light laugh. I nodded. She yawned and stood up before wrapping a towel around her body. She handed me one and I wrapped it around my waist. We dressed for bed and slid into the soft, cool, silk covers. "I missed my bed so much~" she sighed blissfully. She rolled over into my embrace and rested her head on my bicep. "Goodnight," she said. "Goodnight my love," I replied. I felt her hand reach and hold mine with her small soft hand. "I love you." She said. "I love you too." I said before resting the hand she was holding on her stomach. I couldn't help but grin at the thought of being a father. I closed my eyes and fell asleep relaxed with my dear Melody in my arms.
