Chapter 8

((Melody POV))

I twisted with the wind falling through the rain before landing harshly on the ground. "Bloody fuckin hell I hate rain!!" I screamed whipping dirt and blood off of my clothing. "Oh I hope Thorin is okay." I mumbled running to find a lower cave.

I didn't find a cave...more like a shelf of rock I hid under. I leaned my back against the rock and looked at the gashes and blood on my arms. I was starting to get agitated with this adventure. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. "Melody!" I heard Gandalf's voice yell. I sat up, successfully banging my head on the rock above. "Agh, ow" I said cringing holding my head. I looked to see Gandalf trudging through the rain towards me. "G-Gandalf!" I yelled running out into the rain to hug the wizard. "What are you doing down here my dear?" Gandalf asked looking at my beat up arms. "I fell off the cliff. It seriously just fell out from under my feet. The last thing I heard was Thorin screaming my name." I said sitting back under the rock to keep me semi dry. Gandalf nodded. "Have you don't any of them who you really are?" Gandalf asked. "Of course not! I think as far as they think I'm the last Faerie. How on earth do you think Thorin would react if he found out I'm a queen?" I said shaking my head. "Well...considering that we don't have very many areas where we can rest..." I instantly knew where he was going with this. "You want me to let them into the Faerie kingdom don't you?" I asked giving Gandalf a sarcastic look. "Well I believe it would be wise." I nodded. "Okay...I'll let them in. I can only imagine how Cosset and Corus are going to react." I said laughing "ah I quite forgot about your nieces. How are they?" Gandalf asked standing up seeing that the rain has stopped. "I don't know, I haven't seen them in twenty years." I stood and walked beside Gandlaf. My ears twitched. "Something's wrong." I said earning confused look from Gandalf. "What is the matter?" Gandalf asked. "Isn't this the Goblin Kings mountain....if my memory serves correctly." Gandalf nodded. "I think the dwarves got captured, I can just feel it. "I will go see. Follow closely behind incase i need you." Gandalf ordered. I nodded and sprouted my giant wings and hooked my arms underneath his. I used all my strength to fly both of us up the mountain side as quickly as possible. We landed in the cave the dwarves where in. I noticed the crack and summoned my sword. Jabbing it into the crack I pried it open. I flew Gandalf to the ground and lingered above him in the air.

We saw a large mass of goblins and their disgusting King. I gagged at his sight. "I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head. Just a head, nothing attached of course." The goblin king said and I saw it was directed at Thorin who looked beaten and bloody. I felt my blood boil at the thought of someone hurting him. I was blinded by light then saw Gandalf. "Take up arms!!" Gandalf yelled. I gripped my sword in my hands wanting to go fight. I noticed goblins starting to swing from above and do an air attack. "Not on my watch" I said flying towards them and slicing through the rope watching them fall to their death.

I watched Gandalf lead then across a bridge but they where blocked by the fat king. I watched Gandalf slice through the goblin kings stomach. I smiled watching the goblin king so silent. Suddenly the entire bridge fell and was sliding down the mountain. Gandalf looked at me and nodded. I flew down and used invisibility spell and blocked giant rocks from hitting the dwarves. They landed safely....until the goblin king landed on top of them. "Gandalf!" Thorin yelled, he looked angry and afraid. "Where's Melody." Gandalf just shrugged it off "she's quite alright." Thorin sighed and started to help pull the crushed dwarves out. I flew around the making sure they where safe. I saw no injuries. I flew above Thorin, looking at him with a dreamy expression and followed them out of the mountain.

"Where's bilbo?" Fili said as they all started to look around for him. I was shocked just noticing that he was gone.

"I thought I saw him slip away when we where first captured by the goblins... I don't know where he is now." Nori said Thorin decided to voice his opinion. "I know where he is, he's been missing his comfy chair and his cozy life ever since he left home. He saw his chance and he took it...he is long gone." I landed on the ground, still invisible. "Bilbo....no..." I whispered feeling sad at losing the hobbit I've grown to enjoy. "No...he's not." I smiled seeing bilbo come out from behind a tree. "Bilbo! We'd given up on you!" The brothers laughed and smiled. I couldn't help but smile at them, the reminded me of my nieces, Cosset and Corus. I missed them. I was brought out of my happy thoughts by the sound of orcs yelling and Wargs howling. "Oh no..." I whispered. "Out of the frying pan...." Thorin started. "And into the fire, RUN!" Gandalf finished and the dwarves took off. I stayed behind watching the orcs come towards me though they could not see me. I quickly decided to knock trees down to block their path giving the dwarves more time. With a swift motion of my hand I proceeded to know down trees. I flew after the dwarves and saw them climbing into trees. "Good thinking." I said as I flew up and landed next to Thorin though he did not know I was there. Then I saw him.... The pale Orc. Thorin looked shocked. "Azog..." He said pushing a branch out of his way as to see better. The Orc started to speak in orcish which I did not understand, though I heard Thorin's name mentioned...and his fathers. Azog yelled some thing and the orcs and wargs started charging I flew and tugged on Gandalf robe. "Please! Let me help them!" I whispered in his ear, he shook his head. I groaned in fear if what was going to happen. I noticed a butterfly in the distance and flew after it, catching it safely in my hands. "Hello little friend, I need your help." I flew back to Gandalf and placed the butterfly where he would see it. He instantly grabbed it and sent it off to get help. After a while the trees where being uprooted by the wargs and tipping over until there was one tree left. I saw Gandalf light a pinecone on fire and started to throw it. I grinned at his brilliance. All the dwarves started throwing flaming pinecones at the Wargs, I shot a few fire balls myself. All the wargs ran away and I noticed Thorin looking at Azog then he stood. He walked towards Azog and started to run at him. I covered my mouth as not to scream in horror as I watched Thorin be knocked down by the Warg then picked up in its mouth. Thorin struck the warg in the head causing it to throw him. Azog said something to another orc and soon that Orc had a sword at Thorin's throat. "That's it. I'm not sitting back anymore." I noticed bilbo run and knock the Orc off Thorin. I took off my invisibility spell and landed on the ground causing it to shake. I was furious. My hair had gone black and my skin looked like it was on fire. My blood was boiling as I looked the Pale Orc in the face. Bilbo looked at me with a terrified expression. My white eagle wings where black and my eyes burned a dark grey. "Kill her." I heard Azog say in english. I summoned a large black sword and drug it behind me. I noticed sparks flying as I drug it on the ground. "You can try, but you will not succeed." I growled and swung my sword beheading two orcs and stabbed it through the ribcage of a warg trying to jump on me. I picked up a suffering Orc and burned it with my hand. I threw him to the side and suddenly heard the screech of eagled coming down. They where large eagles. I ducked as they swooped down and grabbed the remaining orcs and wargs tossing them off the cliff. I watched one gently pick up Thorin and I flew after it. "THORIN!" I screamed trying to fly. All of the Dwarves where riding on eagle watching Thorin and watching me fly after him. I felt my magic beginning to weaken and I fell from the sky landing on an eagle below. I reached my hand out to Thorin trying to reach him but failed. I formed back into my previous state and just stared weakly at the sky. We landed at the top of a very large hill and I hopped off and collapsed to the ground. I laid there silently. Gandalf went to check on Thorin, I watched through fuzzy vision as some others came to check on me, they consisted of Bofur, Bilbo, Bombur and Ori. Bofur crouched down and pushed my bangs out if my eyes. "are you alright lass?" I couldn't hear him. I couldn't hear anything. I just nodded and hoped that would work. Then I watched Thorin get up and walk angerly towards Biblo, I was about to yell not to yell at him before I saw him hug bilbo tightly. I smiled and just watched. Then Thorin ran to me. "Melody??" I looked at him and smiled at him and placed a hand on his cheek. "I love you." That was all I said. I stood and lean against Thorin for support and looked Gandalf. I could hear him saying something to me, I knew it was to take us to my kingdom. I nodded and floated on my normal sized fairy wings and floated down the mountain with the dwarves following me. I felt them to a large stone wall. Thorin looked at me confused. I looked away and conjured a tiny silver key. I unlocked the giant stone wall and ordered the dwarves to push...revealing the Faerie kingdom.
