"Okay you must remember, Mam... Mam's very there. If that makes any sense." Millie tries to explain, both at the airport.

"What do you mean?" Maisie frowns.

"Like, she's... She's always there. She's very caring and attentive." Millie explains further.

"So, she's clingy?" Maisie raises an eyebrow.

"Um. Not in a bad way of course."

"Yeah well Mum's not. You're in for a shock."

Millie silently gulps. "Can't we just go together? I mean, Mam will understand—"

"No. We have to do this. We both need answers. Why, why did they do this? Why didn't they stay together?" Maisie asks aloud.

"I don't care." Millie huffs, "You care to do this more than me. I don't care. All I want is my Mam-"

"Don't chicken out now." Maisie says seriously. "This will be good for you. You'll love the house, it's good therapy I can assure you. You'll really love it."

Millie huffs. "Fine."

"Okay now give me your phone—"

"What – no!" She holds the iPhone to her chest, protecting it.

Maisie tuts, "Well I can't tell your Mam that I've got a new phone, can I?"

"You're right." Millie sighs, handing it to Maisie and swapping all the information with each other. She really didn't want to do this, but deep down, she secretly did.

"Last boarding call for London, Heathrow."

"Okay, that's me." Maisie squeals, "Hugs." She grabs her sister and pulls her into a bone crushing hug, "I'll call you as soon as I get there."

"Okay." Millie whispers, parting ways with her sister. She was holding tears back, officially feeling lost at this point.

She prayed for the plane ride to run smoothly.

__________

All throughout the flight, Maisie was snooping through the endless texts between Cheryl and Millie. She never knew a love like this existed, secretly envious of Millie. Cheryl was caring and loving, affectionate and attentive to her little girl.

She could see it through the texts.

She could feel the love through the words.

How am I supposed to act? Maisie mentally thinks, she didn't think this mess through.

The plane had landed, her luggage had been picked up and before she stepped out of the airport, there Cheryl stood waving her hands around and rushing over to Maisie.
