The way back. Chapter 1

The clock was 9 am and it was Monday morning. It was a beautiful day with sunny weather and just a wonderful morning except for Kate's morning.
"Oh god! Can't anyone turn of that horrible sound!" Kate yelled and buried her head in all of her pillows to just get the sound away.
"Do you have to do everything here?!" Kate yelled and sat up and turned off the alarm.
"Hello?" Kate yelled. "Oh, god...My head." Kate muttered.
No one's here, that's odd.
She got up from the bed and walked into the kitchen, it was a mess. Kate just walked pass it, she wasn't really in the mood for cleaning.
The little corridor along the kitchen led her to William's room.
"William honey it's time to go up..." Kate said and walked into his room.
But it was empty.
"William this is not funny. You have to go to school." Kate said and looked in his closet and under the bed.
Kate walked out into the kitchen and looked in the other rooms as well, she started to panic. She couldn't find her son, someone had kidnapped him!

The living room was a mess to but she sat down in the sofa and pushed away all the bottles and grabbed her phone under some newspapers and chips bags.
"Hey Lanie. I can't find William I need you to come and help me." Kate said holding a hand to her head. She had the worse hangover ever.
Lanie just sighed. This wasn't the first time this had happened.
"I will be right over." Lanie said and hung up.
Last time this happened and Lanie tried to tell her over the phone she could hear the cork on the wine bottle opened and then the call ended.

Kate sat down and clicked on the tv and waited for Lanie who only lived a couple of blocks away so she wouldn't have to wait that long.
She grabbed some old newspaper and started to flipped through it. That's when she saw the papers again; those damn papers ruined her life.
The scotch bottle was in its place but almost empty she poured her a big glass of it just as the door opened.
"Hey Lanie. I know where he is...I just didn't remember." Kate said and she could feel the lump in her stomach again like she always did.
"Sweetie I know you miss him but you will get him back, I promise but you have to stop with this otherwise you won't see him again." Lanie said and grabbed the glass from Kate.
"Lanie give that back to me!" Kate said and she tried to reach it.
Lanie walked into the kitchen and Kate could hear her pouring out the scotch into the sink.
Kate got so mad that she threw the empty bottle into the wall so it came glass everywhere. Lanie run into the living room again and could see the glass and Kate crying.
"Oh, sweetie." Lanie said and walked up to her to catch her before she passed out, this was the third time this had happened in the last couple of days.
"Lanie I can't do this! I want him back." Kate said between sobs.
"Kate honey he will come back." Lanie said and stroke Kate's hair. "I promise"

Lanie felt Kate falling asleep again. She had to do something about this so she laid down Kate on the couch and walked into the kitchen to make a call because Kate needed help otherwise she would never see William again.

"Hello my name is Lanie Parish I was looking for Mr.Castle." Lanie said to the lady in the phone.
Lanie had called her friend at the hospital and they recommend that Kate would go to an AA meeting so that she could talk about her problem and get help from others that had the same problems that she.
"Hello, Richard Castle here what can I help you with." Rick said.
"Hello Mr.Castle my name is Lanie parish and I really need your help." Lanie said.
"Well then we need to book a meeting so that you can come and talk about your problems." Rick said.
Lanie looked over at Kate in the couch who looked like she hadn't slept for days.
" Mr.Castle its not me that needs help it's my friend. She's an alcoholic and it just keep getting worse and worse." Lanie said quite because you never know about Kate Beckett.
"Oh, I see... I have a group this afternoon if she can come." Rick said and looked through his calendar.
"That would be great. We will see you later." Lanie said and looked at the clock it was only 12pm so she would get Kate decent.
"What's your friends name?" Rick asked before hanging up.
"Her name is Kate Beckett." Lanie said and hung up because she saw that Kate was getting up from the couch and held a hand over her mouth.

Kate sat on the bathroom floor and cried quite. She had said to Lanie that she wanted to be alone. Lanie her best friend who had been there since this all started and she didn't really know why she was so kind to her. Yeah, she was her best friend but Kate had betrayed all of her friends, family and especially William.
Her little boy all alone without his mother.
There was a knock on the door and Lanie came in and sat down beside Kate on the floor.
"You and I are going to fix you up because we are going out for a meeting." Lanie said quite because she knew Kate would get angry with her.
"What I didn't hear what you said." Kate said and sat up so that she could hear better.
" I said that you and I are going to go on a meeting today, I called a guy today and he booked you for a group session this afternoon." Lanie said not wanting to meet Kate's eyes.
"You did what?! Lanie you know I don't go out any more, I haven't been out for almost 2 weeks now." Kate said so disappointed in her friend.
Kate walked out from the bathroom and into her bedroom and closed the door.
Was it possible that she could do this or would it be as last time?
