The way back {chapter 22}

They all ate in silence and when they were finsihed with the food and everyone was full execpt Rick who wasn't aloud to eat Martha stood up and said that it was time for Alexis and her to go home for the night but that they would come back first thing in the morning.
The nurse had come in during their meal and said that Rick had to stay one more night and that tomorrow if everything looked good he would be able to go home. The time run away and it was suddenly 11pm when Kate checked the clock. She had to go home and change but at the same time she didn't want to leave Rick, she had left him once four years ago and that turned out to be the biggest mistake she's ever done. She would go home for just an hour and change and then she would be back and he would probably don't even notice, she got up and let Rick's hand fall down on the bed and then she grabbed her jacket and walked towards the door.
"Kate?" Rick said with a sleepy voice.
'So much for being quiet and quick', Kate thought and walked back to the bed.
"Hey, why're you awake?" Kate asked and sat down in the chair beside Rick's bed.
"I couldn't feel your hand anymore.." Rick said and looked at her with sleepy eyes.
She grabbed his hand again and squezzed it.
"Why are you having your coat on?" Rick asked now a little more awake.
"I..I have to go home.." Kate said and looked at Rick again.
"Okey, will you be back?" He asked scared that this was it, she wouldn't come back.
"Of course! I will always be here for you Rick, I will never leave you.." she said and got up and planted a kiss on his cheek.

When Kate came back the next day after last night dicusstion that ended with her leaving the whole night because Rick insisted but now she was back and could see that Rick was awake and was sitting up in the bed.
"Hey, you're back." he said and turned off the TV he had been watching.
"Yeah, are you ready to get home?" she asked and got up to *her* chair and took off her jacket and sat down in her usually spot.
"How are you?" she asked and saw that he had little more color today which was really good.
"I'm better but right now I just want to go home and never come back here." Rick said and gave her a weak smile.
She grabbed his hand again and gave him and understanding smile, just as she was about to ask him something there was a nurse walking into the room.
"Hello, you two..How are we today?" she asked.
"Both good, just want to go home now!" Rick said and laughed carefully not wanting to hurt himself.
"That's good, let's just do some test and then we'll see if everything looks good and then you'll be to go. Let me just have a word with you wife first." the nurse said and looked over at Kate who had forgot that she had told them that she was his wife so at first she was chocked but then she remembered so she follow the nurse outside the room.

"Mr.Castle isn't having that much trouble doing everything himself but he needs your help espailly in the beginning and then he will be better but right now he needs you more then ever so if you could take some time off from work that would be great." the nurse said and just smiled and walked away.
When Kate walked into the room again Rick was still sitting in the bed and was just looked outside through the window. She walked up and just spontanius kissed him and walked around to sit down in *her* chair.
"What are you thinking?" Kate asked and smiled.
"Oh, nothing special.. What did the nurse want to ask my lovely wife?" Rick said and smirked.
Kate giggled, which was very rear when it comes to Kate Beckett.
"She asked be to babysit you in the beginning now when you will come home so I was thinking, you have to be there for Alexis and Martha so my place is already out of the picture so what do you say if I come and stay at your loft?" Kate said almost a little shy.
Rick didnd't answer at first, he just sat there and smiled.
"That sounds..perfect!" he said with the biggest smile.

The nurse came back and said that they hand checked everything and that it looked perfect, which made Rick really happy. Kate walked outside of the room when it was time for Rick to change, she was still not really comfirtable with him changing while she was still in the room even tho they had seen each other naked. When he was finished he walked outside with his arm hanging in a band that was around his neck and his hair almost done.
Kate let out a little laugh and fixed it for him and then they were headed out from the hospital and home.
