The way back {chapter 6}

The week went by fast and Kate hadn't taken a single drink and it was getting harder and harder to not go down to the corner store and buy a bottle of scotch.

She had talked some more with that guy on that dating site and it was nice to have someone to talk to that you wouldn't meet. She could tell him everything but she hadn't said her real name yet because she didn't want some creepy guy stalking her down. So she kept it simple but he knew more about her now then he knew a week ago and she knew that he was a writer and that he had a little girl that was 6.

Just as Kate had put her hair up in a ponytail she heard the phone ring.

"Hello?" Kate answered.

"Hey it's me Lanie. Just wondering if you're ready." Lanie said.

"Yeah, I'm ready." Kate said and walked out into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water to drink on the way.

"I'll be downstairs in 5 so you can go down and wait for me.." Lanie said.

"Yeah, great, bye." Kate said and hung up and grabbed her coat and walked out from her apartment.

Kate checked the time and it was 15:45 pm when Lanie picked her up outside of her apartment.

She wasn't as nervous as last week, she was happy and excited today which was unusually.

The car ride was easy and they found a parking spot close to the place.

"So I will see you in an hour." Lanie said.

"Uhm... Actually I can get home by myself. I think I will take the subway and walk the rest of the way." Kate said and got out of the car.

"Oh, okey but call me if anything happens. Okey." Lanie said a little surprised.

"Oh, yeah of course." Kate said and closed the door.

Kate walked up to the door and took a deep breath and opened the door and walked in.

She saw the same people that were there last time so she walked into the big room and like last time there was a coffee station in the back and a circle of chairs in the middle.

"Hey Kate. " She heard a voice from behind. She turned around and meets two big blue eyes.

"Oh, Hey. Richard right?" Kate asked not knowing what to say.

"Yes, correct. I'm so glad that you're here today again." Rick said and looked down and saw that it was almost time so start the meeting.

"I'm just going to fix some things before we start, let's talk more later." Rick said and walked away.

" Oh, by the way...Hope your meal tasted good." Rick said with a smirk.

Kate just stood there in chock. It was him; he had paid for her meal but why? Kate thought and walked over to the chairs.

Now there was a smile on Kate's face instead of a gapping mouth she still couldn't get why he had done it.

When Rick sat down in his chair his eyes met Kate and he gave her a wink and continued talked to the group.

Kate hadn't listen to a single word because she was in dream land dreaming about Richard Castle on the beach playing with her son and then Rick walks up to her and gave her a kiss and lay down beside her. Kate's daydream disappeared when she heard someone calling on her.

"Kate? Kate are you here?" She heard.

She looked around and saw that everyone was looking at her.

"I was asking you to continue your story from last week but if you don't feel like it then we can take someone else." Rick said and gave her one of those charming smiles.

"Oh, no sorry... I can continue my story." Kate said and looked away from Rick's eyes otherwise she would drown in them again.

"There's not so much more to now, like I said last time that I lost my son because of the drinking and I have only talked to him a few times since they took him but I'm not giving up I haven't got a drink in a week now and I'm going to do whatever it takes to get him back.." Kate said and looked up at the group. They applaud for her and Rick got to the next person who was a girl named was Irina and she was 16 years old but more than that didn't she get out of the story because she was busy dreaming again.

"Kate you coming?" the man in front of her said in her dream she ran after him.

"Yes, William are you coming too." Kate said and turned around but William was gone.

She looked back at the man in front of her and she saw that he grabbed William in his arm and dragged him into the car that was waiting. Kate started screaming and started ran after him but she couldn't it was like she was stuck.

"NO! Please don't take him!" Kate suddenly screamed and got up from her seat and fell to the floor.

"KATE!? Are you okey?" Kate could hear but all she wanted was William but he was gone.

"KATE?!"

"What the hell just happened. She needs help!" She could hear before she felt someone grab her by the shoulders.

"Kate? Are you in there?" Rick said to her trying to get contact.

She opened her eyes and there his big blue eyes was again.

"They took him.." was the only thing she could say.

"I know Kate and you will get him back I promise." Rick said and gave her a smile.

"You promise?" Kate asked.

"I promise." Rick said and laid her down on the floor again.

He looked at the chocked group.

"I think we will have to move this meeting to another time I need to help Kate.. Can we meet this time in two days?" Rick asked the group and the all agreed on a new day.

Rick looked down at Kate who still wasn't really getting what just happened.

"Kate can you sit up for me please?" Rick asked and grabbed one of her hands to help her.

When Kate sat down on the chair beside Rick he grabbed her hand.

"Kate, are you okey? Can you say your name?" Rick asked.

"Katherine Houghton Beckett." Kate answered.

Kate what just happened?" Rick asked wanting to know what happened.

"I was daydreaming about y-..." Kate suddenly stopped before telling too much because that would have been awkward.

"I was daydreaming about William and suddenly there was a man and it all happened again." Kate said and the tears started running down from her cheeks. Rick wiped away the tears and squeezed her hands telling her he was there for her.

"Kate I will do whatever it takes to get you little boy back." Rick said with a smile.
