The way back {chapter 3}

"I'm 31 years old and I'm an alcoholic. I have been it for almost nine months now." Kate stopped, this was harder then she thought.
"I lost my mom a few years ago when I was 19 and I took her death hard so did my dad.
My life hasn't been the same since that day when she died and I have spent my whole life trying to solve her murder but about a year ago I failed and I took it hard. I started to drown my sorrows with alcohol, about 4 months ago I lost my son because of the drinking..." Kate said and the tears started to appear in her eyes.
"We will take a break from you Kate so you can calm down."Rick said and gave her a smile.

Kate sat and listen to the others stories but she only had her eyes on Rick. He was so handsome and his smile when he listen to the others was so beautiful.
"I'm sorry to say this but our time is almost out and we have to continue next time. I will like to say thank you to everyone for sharing there stories." Rick said and gave everyone a smile and looked at Kate and gave her another smile.
They all left and put on their jackets and Kate waited for Lanie to come back who had gone shopping.
Kate sat down and looked through her phone when she heard someone walk up to her. She thought it was Lanie but when she looked up, Rick stood there.
"You did good. It's a hard story you have there and it will take time before you feel secured with telling your story to anyone." Rick said and gave Kate the most beautiful smile she had seen.
"Thanks." Kate said and looked away. She didn't want anything to happened between them other than he helped her with her drinking problem.
Lanie walked in just as Kate and Rick shared a last smile before depicted from each other.

Kate and Lanie walked back to the car in silence, non of them said a word. Kate couldn't get Rick out of her face, he was her AA leader not some guy at a bar that she could just hook up with.
Lanie ruined her thought.
"What are you thinking about? Was it that hard? Or is it that handsome man you were talking too?" Lanie said a little sarcastic.
For the first time since they too William from Kate she blushed slightly. She looked down to hide it but Lanie saw it but didn't want to push her.
"So you want to go to eat something, you haven't eaten in all day." Lanie said when they arrived to the car.
"Didn't you just have coffee?" Kate answered.
"I decided to go shopping instead but I didn't found a single thing."Lanie and started the engine.
Kate wasn't aloud to drive, they had taken her driving license from her during the period they took William so now when she need to go somewhere she had to call Lanie, Javi or Ryan. Her dad hadn't talked to her in months not since William was taken so he couldn't help her but her friends were very helpful when she need someone.
"What do you say? Dinner at Remy's and then a movie marathon at my place and then you can sleep there too." Lanie said while driving.
"Sounds good.." Kate said looking through her phone.

They walked into Remy's and got s booth in the back. The sat down and got the menus not that they were needed they already knew what they wanted so when the waiter came and took their orders they were quick. Kate took a ordinary hamburger and a strawberry milkshake.
"So what's up with that handsome man at the meeting?" Lanie asked with a grin on her face.
Kate gave her the "don't go there" look but Lanie didn't stop because eventually she would get it out of her.
"He was handsome, what's he one of the members?" Lanie asked.
"Lanie stop okey, he's no one. He's just the leader of the group." Kate said and looked down a little embarrassed.
"Oh, Mr. Castle?" Lanie asked again.
"Yes..." Kate said quite. She didn't want Lanie to ask her these questions because know she wouldn't be able to stop thinking about him again. His hair was so beautiful so thick and his eyes so beautiful all blue.
"Kate!" Lanie almost yelled at her, then she just laughed because she knew who she were thinking of.
"What?!" Kate said.
"Our milkshakes are here." Lanie said and pointed at the glass in front of her.
Kate grabbed her milkshake and sucked in the straw. She always ordered the same at Remy's it was something with it that was so good.
Their burgers arrived and they ate in silence because both of them were really hungry.
"You like him don't you?" Lanie teased Kate a bit.
Kate just looked up at Lanie and gave her "the look".
"You aren't going to stop until you get some answers right." Kate asked and took a big bite on her burger.
"Nope." Lanie said with a smirk.
"Okay, yes I like him, he's cute." Kate said and blushed a little.
Lanie didn't answer just looked at her friend who looked a little happy for once. When they took William from her it was like she died inside. There wasn't any hope left.

"Are you finished?" Lanie asked when Kate drank up the rest of the milkshake.
"Yeah, I will pay this just so you know so don't even think about it." Kate said and grabbed her wallet from her bag.
"Why? I dragged you out from your apartment and everything."Lanie said.
"Lanie it was the best idea ever. I feel a little happier than before and that's a big step for me." Kate said and walked up to the desk to pay.
"We would like to pay.." Kate said and gave her, her credit card.
The waiter took it and saw that their meal was already paid for.
"You're lucky it looks like someone already paid for it." The waiter said and gave her the card again.
"What?! But how?..." Kate said a little shocked.
" I don't know who..." The waiter said and Kate and Lanie walked out on the street again.
They both were a little shocked and wondered who it could be.
