The way back {chapter 15}

Rick stood in the shower thinking about what he had just done. 'They should have waited for the right moment but they didn't.. Now she's in there gorgeous as ever with her just fucked hair and his seed inside her.' He thought as he grabbed some shampoo.

"Fuck.." he said and slammed his fist right into the wall.

'What the hell she could be pregnant, what I'm I going to do if that happens.' He thought and turned off the shower.

This was really fucked up, he loved her but he couldn't do this to her. It wasn't good for either of them.

He looked at himself in the mirror, he was handsome but he just couldn't see himself as a father figure again. He had Alexis and that was everything to him but if Kate would be pregnant that wouldn't be good for them. Kate had to get back William and if he had ruined it now he couldn't live with himself.

After he brushed his teeth and grabbed a new pair of boxers and went out into the bedroom. He hadn't heard a sound from the bedroom and when he saw Kate still there it was a relief. She was asleep and was still naked. Rick go up and pulled the duvet over her she wouldn't freeze during the night, he then turned of the light and laid down with the back towards her.

He laid there in bed not being able to sleep when he felt Kate's cold hands against his back and then she snuggled up with him.

Something with the whole scene was odd but at the same time it felt like they were made for each other, Kate was suppose to sleep there next to him and no one else.

Felling Kate breath against his skin made him calm down and he fell asleep.

"So what's your name?" the girl asked him and sat down next to him.

He didn't answer he just looked down at the little he had left in his glass.

"Hello? Mr.." the girl said and he could hear that she was pretty wasted already and he didn't need another girl on his hands.

"My name is Thomas" he said, still looking down at his glass.

"So..Omg you're Thomas Clarkson I listened to you earlier.. by the way my name is Kate." she said and gave him a smile and shaked his hand.

Rick flew up after having the dream and looked at the girl beside him.

"Omg.." he said and held a hand against his head feeling the hangover he got last night.

Kate stirred beside him.

"What is it Rick.."she said sleepy.

"I just had a dream..." he said trying to get what he just saw.

"It's okey, I'm here.."She said and laid her arm over his waist and pulled him closer.

"Go back to sleep we talk more about in the morning." She said and planted a kiss on his shoulder.

Rick didn't answer he just laid there. She was right they would figure out what happened tomorrow.

So he fell back asleep but his sleep that night wasn't the best he had.

Next morning Rick woke up to an empty bed. 'Was it all a dream?' he thought and got up.

The shower was running. 'It wasn't a dream.. It really happened..'

He walked out into the kitchen saw a coffee cup on the counter and a note.

"For you.." it said and he grabbed it and took it with him into the bedroom again. In there he met Kate in one of his bathrobes and a coffee cup in her hand too.

"Hey..you're awake.." she said and looked down.

"Yeah..." Rick said and he knew this would be like the walk of shame.

Kate placed the coffee cup on the bureau and started picking up the clothes that was spread out over the room.

"Kate..can we talk?" He asked.

She looked up at him and placed the clothes on the end of the bed.

"Sure.." she said and sat down with her coffee in her hand.

Rick didn't know where to start, was he going to tell her about that night years ago or was he going to just let it go. 'She probably don't remember anyway..' he thought.

"About last night.." he started.

"I know, it wasn't the best thing we could have done but I thought... it was great." Kate said a little shy.

Rick smiled at her, he agreed with her but at the same time he didn't want to be in the way of William.

"I agree but I just don't want to be in the way of you getting William back." He said.

"You're never in the way. I have never felt better." Kate said and smiled.

He didn't know what to answer because the the only thing that was on his mind was the night 4 years ago.

"I'm glad that you feel better.."was his answer and he cuddled up next to her on the bed.

She planted a kiss on his lips and they kept talking about things. What they would do later? and other stuff but all Rick could think about was that day.

He had to ask her soon but not right now.

They are going to see William next monday and it was only 3 days until then so he would tell after that.
