The way back {chapter 4}

When they got home after their dinner they popped some popcorn and they had bought candy on the way home when they rented the movie. The only thing that was missing was the cozy clothes and some soda. Lanie had moved all her alcohol from her apartment because you never know what Kate could do if she got upset so they drank soda or water.

They walked into Lanie's bedroom and changed into some cozy clothes.

"Here you go.. They will be too big for you but it will do today." Lanie said and gave Kate some clothes.

Kate had lost a lot of weight over the four months. She had gone from a size 6 to a size 4 so all her clothes were too big for her now.

After they change Lanie walked out and put everything together and when Kate walked out they started the movie. It was an action movie because both Lanie and Kate couldn't watch romance without crying.

The night ended with both sleeping on the couch.

Next day Kate woke up alone on the couch, she looked around and saw that Lanie was in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Hey sleepy head." Lanie said when Kate came into the kitchen.

"Hey..." Kate said sleepy.

Lanie placed a plate with pancakes on the table and some blueberries and syrup.

"How are you feeling?" Lanie asked when she sat down in front of Kate.

"Actually better than other days. I have to say thanks for everything you have done for me Lanie. You are truly the best friend in the world."Kate said and took a pancake and put it on her plate.

They had some small talk while eating.

"So I got this idea while I was cooking.." Lanie said and looked up at Kate.

"Okay.. And that is?" Kate asked while eating.

Lanie looked almost a little nervous telling Kate about her idea.

"I have this site where I go looking for guys.." Lanie said and looked down.

"Okay.. And?" Kate still didn't get it.

"Uhm.. I was thinking that maybe you could try it?" Lanie said quickly but Kate heard her.

"Lanie! Absolutely not! No one what's someone like me!" Kate said a little too laud.

"You don't have to meet them it's a chat site, you have another name and everything.."Lanie said trying to win Kate over.

Kate sat quite just thinking through the idea. Maybe it was a good idea.. To talk to someone that you don't have to meet face to face..

"I can always try it.." Kate said after thinking it through.

"Great!" Lanie said not so quite anymore.

"I will help you after breakfast." Lanie said and continue eating.

They ate and while Lanie cleaned the kitchen Kate went and change clothes.

She hadn't any other clothes than the ones she had yesterday.

Lanie walked into the bedroom and change too and grabbed her computer so that she could show her how this website worked.

"Are you coming?" Lanie yelled from the living room.

"Yeah, just a minute." Kate said and grabbed her hair and put it up into a ponytail.

She walks out to Lanie and was almost a little nervous about this dating site, maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.

"Come over here and sit down beside me." Lanie said and Kate sat down beside her.

"Okey, so let's start with doing a profile for you." Lanie said and opened up the page were you sign up.

Kate just looked at her all confused, what had she got herself into?!

"There you go, now you just log in here and then you're ready to go." Lanie said and moved away from the computer so that Kate could log in. When she had made it to her profile page there was a picture of her and a little description too. "Now, all we have to do is wait for someone that wants to chat with you." Lanie said and just as she said it there was a *pling* from the computer and Kate had got her first message.

"Lanie I don't think this was a very good idea..." Kate says and places the computer on the coffee table and walk into the kitchen.

"Oh, come on girl. You need to find someone else but me that can take care of you." Lanie said and walked in the kitchen too.

"Lanie! No one wants me..." Kate said as she heard a *pling* from the computer again.

She took a water bottle from the fridge because she couldn't find any wine, probably Lanie that had hide it from her and walked into the living room again.

She clicked on the symbol that said "messages" and said that there was a man that had started a conversation with her.

(Cont.)

"Hey, I'm applewritermonkey."

"Are you there?" The person had written.

Kate hesitated again and then she wrote.

"Hey, I'm Kbex41319.

"Hey, nice to meet you, so how are you?" Applewritermonkey wrote.

Kate hesitated again. This wasn't a good idea at all, she couldn't do this.

"Uhm.. I gotta go, bye" Kate wrote and shut the computer of.

Kate walked into the living room again were Lanie sat and looked through some magazines.

"So how did it go?" Lanie asked and laid the paper on the coffee table.

"Lan, I can't do this, it's too much. Going to the meetings was one thing but this...I can't share my life with someone that can be anyone." Kate said almost a little frustrated.

"But sweetie you have to go out on dates, live a life for William's sake." Lanie said and moved closer to Kate so that she could hug her.

"Let's go to the meeting next week and if you feel like it you can chat to the guys, it's not something that you have to do but I'm just saying that it would be good for you." Lanie said.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Kate said and stood up.

"I need to go home now, thank you so much for everything Lanie." Kate said and hugged her friend.

"I will call you.."Lanie said and Kate walked out.
