The way back {chapter 9}

"So what do you want to talk about?" Rick wrote and spun around in his chair and grabbed his whiskey bottle and poured him a glass while watching Kbex41319 write.

"Oh, nothin special I just wanted to talk to somone..."She wrote.

"Okey, so how was your day?" Rick wrote back trying to start a real conversation.

He really liked this girl even if he hadn't met her, maybe she was a psychopath or she was this sweet girl that was in his head when he saw her write.

"It could have been better..." she wrote back.

"Wanna talk about it? I'm here for you." Rick wrote because he wanted her to trust him.

"No, I talked to my friend before so I'm good,." She wrote back.

Kate sat in her bed with the computer in her lap and just smiled at this person that the still hadn't met. He was so sweet and from his messages he wanted to know her better.

"Wanna talk about it? I'm here for you." He had written back.

Kate didn't want him to know too much about her and she wasn't sure if it was such a good idea to tell him about Rick so she decided to keep it simple.

"No, I talked to my friend before so I'm good." She wrote.

"Are you sure?" She got back.

She smiled again. Could this man get any sweeter.

"I'm sure. Let's talk about something else? okey?" she wrote back.

"okey let's do that." Applewritermonkey wrote back.

They had been talking for more than an hour about all kinds of stuff when Kate suddenly got a message she didn't really know how to answer.

"So Kbex...I was wondering if we could meet up someday?"

Kate was stunned. She froze in time.

He wanted to meet her but what about Rick, what would happened to him? Kate got a little overwhelmed and just typed in.

"Sure."

When she saw what she had written she wanted to take it back but that would just look weird.

"Oh, okey..Great. What about we meet in two days around 4pm for some coffee?" Applewritermonkey answered.

"Yeah but where and how do I know it's you?" Kate wrote back already getting nervous for this meeting.

"How about at the dinner on Mulberry street and look for a man with a red shirt and a black coat." he wrote back.

"Perfect, I'll meet you on friday." Kate wrote back.

"I gotta go, talk more tomorrow?"

"Yeah sure." Kate wrote back and closed the laptop and placed it onto the floor next to her bed.

What the hell had just happened?

Rick was a little shocked how well the "ask her out" had gone. She had said just said yes and then it was over.

They had said their good bye so he closed the computer for the evening.

He closed the computer and walked into the bedroom and then into the bathroom.

He stepped into the shower after taking of his clothes and took a quick shower, he tried the stop thinking about Kbex and Kate but it was impossible. It was like they almost was the same person because the way they talked and write was almost the same but that couldn't be possible.

He stepped out of the shower and dried himself on one of the towels and then brushed his teeth.

When he walked out into the bedroom again he thought about texting Kate just to see that they were clear and that she was okay with his move that he made earlier.

"Hey, it's Rick... I was just wondering if we were good?" Rick wrote but after he saw it he deleted it right away.

He tried one more time.

"Hey, what's up?" He wrote and this time it sounded better so he sent it and then grabbed on of the books by the bed to read before he went to sleep.

He waited for an answer but there was non.

Kate sat in her bed and was reading one of Richard Castle's books. It was her favorite author which her mother had been reading from the beginning and after she past away Kate started reading them and now she was stuck.

The funny with the books was that the other never did any books signings or he never had readings. Kate had no idea who the writer was in person but if she meet him; she would have freaked out. It was something with the details that was perfect and he had really captured the best parts in crime solving.

Suddenly her telephone started ringing. She looked at the clock it was only past 7pm, who would be calling me now?

"This is Kate..." She said because she had no idea who it was because the number wasn't one of her contacts.

"Mom?" A weak voice said on the other end.
