Sam
As I'm walking home from school I see the boy that I always see in the hallway at school, he looks depressed half of the time, I kind of feel bad for him. He looks back at me and I smile, he smiles back. I wish I could get to know him, but he looks intimidating and like he doesn't want friends. I watch him walk into his house, he lives next to me, every time I go inside my house I hear yelling from next door. I'm starting to think that he's getting hurt in there, but I don't wanna start anything so I stay away. I walk into my house and sit on the couch, "Hey Sam, how about you go next door and see if that kid wants to hang out, he can come over here if you'd like." My mom says, it wasn't a bad idea, so I did it. "Ok, I'll see." I mean what else do I have to do? I go to the door and knock, a man with medium length brown hair opens the door, he looks twice as intimidating as the boy does. "Here for Colby?" He asks, I look up at him and nod my head. "COLBY YOUR FRIEND IS OUTSIDE!" He yells, I feel bad for him already. A brunette boy with angry gray eyes, walks down the stairs. He comes to the front door and comes outside, the man closes the door and the boy sits on the worn out bench on his front porch, he pulls out a...vape I think. "I don't have friends...so who are you?" He asks in a rather cool guy tone, I look at him, then down at the concrete. "Im that guy you saw walking home today, you looked back at me and smiled." I say, he blows his vape away and looks at me, I started smelling skunks...ah ha! Its a dab pen! I'm smart. I focus on him, seeing scars up and down his arms. "Oh, well, I'm Cole, but it's Colby, nobody calls me Cole. And when I smile at someone it means I wanna be friends with them, I'm just too shy to come up and ask." He says, I smile at him, he smiles back. "Oh, I'm Sam." I say. "Wanna go to my house?" I ask, he looks up at me and nods. He gets up and puts his hand out, I look at him and grab it, he smiles. We walk into my house and go straight to the basement, we sit down on the floor, colby looks down at the floor as he fixes his hair. I kind of want to know why I always hear screaming from over there, but I didn't want to offend him. "Do-you get offended when people ask you about your home life?" I ask, he looks up at me and shakes his head. "All the yelling and screaming your hear is my parents fighting and my dad beating me." He says, my jaw drops, I feel so bad for him. "I'm sorry to hear, c-can I do anything to help?" I say, he looks at me, I could tell he wanted to cry. "I got weed...and my blades, they help a lot." He says, it broke my heart to hear those words escape his mouth. "Is that why you have scars on your arms?" I ask hesitantly, he looks deep into my eyes and I see a tear run down his face. "Y-yeah, I-I'm a cutter." He says, I open my arms for him to hug me, he smiles and takes the affection. "Thank you." He says, "you're welcome." I say, I don't know why he said thank you but it's fine. I feel my eyes start to water, he buries his head in my shoulder, I rub his back. "Wanna stay here for the night?" I ask, he looks up and nods, his eyes turn to a gorgeous teal, from the sad gray they once were, he buries himself in my shoulder again, I think I might have a crush on him.
