i swam away a little bit so there was some distance between us. zach's cheeks flushed and he backed away too.

"right," he echoed. "now that that's out of the way, wanna go on the zipline?" joy laced his voice. "sure!" i replied in fake enthusiasm.

we chased each other to the spot, to see who would make it there first. zach made it there first, but he let me go anyway.

"hey, zach, could you help me with the straps?" i called him over and he was already done. "okay," zach answered.

zach started with the straps on my chest. he tightened them and brought them together with a soft click. he then moved down slowly tightening each one and clasping them together. the zipline was met with the same thrill as every other event we did that day. when we left, i wished we stayed longer.

on the way to meet up with the others, i remembered that i almost kissed the same guy i loathed a week ago. the reality was just too much. i still forgave zach, but i never thought i'd still be doing dumb shit like this.
