Jungkook's POV

___________

He couldn't help but worry for her. Her eyes had held so much locked up emotion when they said goodbye. And yet he hadn't said anything. He had let her go.

He knew she was doing this for Taehyung. He knew because he was certain she wasn't ready to travel again, to experience leaving again..

He knew his sister better than anyone else and he knew it was too early for her, she was so easily triggered, her anxiety so easily sparked..

His eyebrows furrowed in worry as he blankly stared at Jin's lips. None of the words the older said reached his mind. His mind was with Cassia.

All of this trouble was just because of their father, he was at fault Cassia was so vulnerable now, so easily pulled back into the dark. Jungkook knew that there were still so many things unsaid, unsolved.. So many issues unresolved and it was eating Cassia up. She tried to seem strong, she tried so so badly to seem like things weren't getting to her, that she could deal with it on her own.

He knew Cassia felt obligated as his older sister to protect him, to make him feel safe, to seem strong for him..but she was forgetting about herself. She tried so hard to make others think she was strong but she couldn't fool her younger brother, she couldn't fool Jungkook. He had watched her break. Seen it in her eyes, it didn't matter how hard she tried to hide it, he could see right through her.

The look of pain in her eyes, her agonising screams when they had reunited fought their way back into his mind and it was killing him. For a moment there, she had let down her guard. This was how Jungkook knew Cassia trusted Taehyung and felt comfortable around him.

Guilt was nagging on him. Why did he let her go so soon? He should've gone with her, held her hands, helped her breath when her throat closed up.

He felt conflicted. Conflicted about letting her go in the first place, conflicted about this whole thing with Taehyung. Jungkook knew who he was. Just like Cassia, he had recognized him, not immediately but soon enough.

It didn't sit well with him that Taehyung was signed at their father's agency. He believed that Cassia trusted him and that was the only reason he decided to give the guy a chance. Give him a chance, yes. Trust him, no.

He would keep a close eye on Taehyung and if he made one wrong move, sparked just the tiniest bit of suspicion within Jungkook or dared to hurt his sister in any way, Taehyung was dead.

He wouldn't let him hurt or use Cassia. Never again would he let anyone hurt his sister. She had been through enough.

He looked down at his phone with a huff.

Jungkook
I'm always here, Cassie. Never forget that, tell me if something happens, no matter what it is. You promised me to take care.
I love you
