Star-Gazer

I see something glisten in the dark as it falls out of Charlotte's pocket. She was too distracted getting flipped over Bellamy's shoulder so I went over to see what it was. I approach the metal-like object and pick it up. It was her knife. I was going to tell her but I didn't see her or Bellamy for that matter, anywhere in sight.

"Um hello?" I ask shakily as I cautiously take a couple steps forward, placing the knife in my side pocket

"Shit" I mumble to myself as I just decide to go straight.

"Maddie!" I hear Bellamy's worried voice call for me from ahead.

I sprint towards his voice until I smash into a hard object.

"Owww" I groan as I grip my forehead which was now leaking blood a little.

"Damn it" Bellamy says sounding defeated. He was close by.

I hobble up and attempt to find him once again.

"Bellamy!" I hear another voice even closer now. I jog in hopes of not bumping into another tree.

"You cannot fight all of us now give her up" I make out the voice as Murphy's just as I arrive at the scene to know that I am right. Murphy has caught up. I hold back my breath and my mind becomes clouded with fear.I look over to Charlotte who looked white as a ghost.

"Maybe not but I guarantee I can take a few of you with me." Bellamy says to Murphy keeping Charlotte behind him.

"Bellamy stop!" Clarke yells coming into the tense situation with Finn. "This has gone too far" She says and then turns to Murphy. "Just calm down we can talk about this."

Murphy pauses for a second and looks from Clarke to Bellamy. Then all of a sudden he grabs Clarke and spins her around so he has a knife to her throat.

"I'm sick of listening to you talk" He says right into her ear.

"Don't!" Finn shouts taking a step forward but stops when Murphy tightens his grip on Clark.

"Back up or I will slit her throat"

"Please! Don't hurt her." Charlotte speaks up from behind Bell.

"Don't hurt her? Okay I'll make you a deal, you come with me right now, I will let her go" Murphy offers Charlotte, patting Clarks arm.

I shake my head at Charlotte with wide eyes as I bite my bottom lip hoping she wasn't going to give herself up.  Even with my signals  and Clarke telling her not to, Charlotte starts walking towards Murphy but Bellamy grabs her shoulders and holds her back.

"No, no I have to-"

"Stop!" Bellamy's voice frightens her as she stops wrestling with him. He then turns back towards Murphy.

"Murphy this is not happening" He tells him.

"I can't let any of you get hurt because of me, not after what I did." Charlotte says. Then she starts taking a couple steps backwards when I realize what she was doing.

"Charlotte!" I scream running over to her and diving to grab her. Half of my body goes off the cliff as the other half is caught and pinned down by someone. I feel a piece of her jacket slide right through my fingers as I lay there, speechlessly looking at her tiny body being consumed by the dark abyss until it just disappears.
