The Storm Within and Around Us

"Maddieeee...oh maddieeee" A voice hums in my ear, causing me to slowly open my eyes.

"Hm?"

"GET UP!" It screams making me nearly have a heart attack as I spring up, shooting daggers with my eyes at the intruder.

"Oh Jasper Jasper Jasper" I say placing my hand on his shoulder as he was crouched down next to my ghetto bed. "Never disturb my nap again, this is crucial for my brain to fully function in this sad excuse for a planet, got it?" I question him.

"Anything for you sleepyhead" He says as he gets up and ruffles my bed head, but just as he was about to leave I stop him.

"Wait goggles, how's Finn doing? Did they get the knife out?"

"Not yet, Clarke is talking to her mom about-"

"Wait wait wait, they are on the ground!? OUR PARENTS ARE HERE! No no no TOO SOON TOO SOON!" I yell faceplanting onto my pillow, covering myself with blankets in the process.

"Maddie relax, nobodies on the ground, Raven got the communication with the Ark to work."

"Oh" I say calmly but then his words sink in. "Who the heck is Raven!? How long have I been asleep for? Is this a dream-" but before I could continue rambling a loud boom rumbles outside. I jump out of fear and look around cluelessly.

"What was that?" I whisper to Jasper.

Jasper sticks his head out of the tent and I see his neck droop as he lets out a sigh.

"There's a storm coming" He says.

"What's a storm?" I ask out of curiosity.

"You'll find out eventually, come on we have to go into the dropship." He instructs, grabbing my hand and bringing me out of my cozy tent. I refused to let go of the blanket, so I kept it wrapped around me.

All of a sudden we were hit with a huge blast of wind and rain started pouring down on top of us.

"My life ended the day you were born" I hear the older Blake say as I make out his and Octavia's figure by the gate. That didn't sound too good.

"Wait!" I yell to Jasper on top of the loud booms in the sky.

I release Jaspers hand and run back into the tent, grabbing my jacket. Then I quickly go back towards him, using my jacket as a shield from the rain, and we sprint into the dropship.

"Everyone get inside, a storms coming!" I hear Bellamy yell from the front gate of the camp.

We are followed into the dropship by a mad looking Octavia along with a bunch of others all trying to cram through the door at once.

I settle down somewhere in a corner holding my drenched jacket.

From outside you could hear the crackling of thunder as people continued to crowd the dropship.

"I know what a storm is now." I tell Jasper who had sat down next to me.

"Not a pretty thing is it?" He asks looking to all the people huddling together all around us.

"Nope" I say popping the 'p'. "I'm bored I'm going to find Clarke." I tell him before getting up.

"Don't get run over" He jokes as I give him a fake smile.
