I couldn't remember most of my past.
I just knew, at some point as a child.
I lost my parents.
I couldn't tell you, whether they were brutally murdered, or just decided.
They didn't want me.
I didn't want to remember my past, if I had to imagine my parents in it and leaving me..
I wasn't even sure, how I managed to live those years without them.
It wasn't like, anyone popped up and said.
"Oh hey there, I guess I'll adopt you and shit."
This wasn't like the books or movies.
This was real life, and I was alone.

**Chrys's pov.**

I stood at the doors, of my job.
My first job.
I was a nervous wreck, but the guy on the phone, seemed persistent about giving me an interview.
I adjusted the collar on my black shirt, before stepping through the doors of  Cilor.

It was quiet, there were barely any cashiers and I wasn't even sure, some of them were awake.
Where were the customers?
This was the right place, right?
I looked at the slip of paper, given to me that had directions.
I'm pretty sure, this was the place.
It was just, dead.

I walked over to the customer service area, not really sure about this job now.
I approached the lady at the register, who's red eyes fell on me.
"Can I help you?" She asked me.
I rubbed the side of my neck.
"Yeah, um.. I had an interview today? The boss man, seemed pretty forward about having me, come today." I told her, looking around now.

I looked to her name tag.
'Anna.'
Seeming how her eyes were red, I wanted to assume she was a vampire or demon.
Then again, I was a demon.
And I didn't sense, any demon aura around her.
"Ah, Loki and Percy will be interviewing you. Just go to the back, and its the second door on the left." She explained, pulling her black hair into a pony tail.
Nodding, I left the area.

Why were there two people interviewing me?
Damn, more than two people in a room made me nervous.
I decided to take in the store, as I walked to the back.
There were a lot of stockers.
They all seemed pretty chatty.
I guess that was a good thing.

I took in a deep breath, when I stepped through the door, Anna directed me to.

"Christine Darkleer, it says on your resume you were a high school drop out?" Loki asked me, his gray eyes scanning the paper, to make sure he read it correctly.
I kept my hands in my lap, frowning softly.
"Um, yeah.. I've had a lot going on, and school added a lot of stress." I confessed, feeling slightly ashamed.
For the longest I can remember, its only been me.
So, when I had to enroll myself to school.
It was a bit over my head.

Especially when the teachers needed, a guardians consent.

Loki ran a hand through his red hair, frowning.
His attention fell on Percy, the manager.
Percy was bit more intimidating to look at.
He had brown hair and silver blue eyes, he was an angel.
No literally.
He was an angel.

"What do you think? She meets most of what we're asking for. I know up front could use, more cashiers." He told him.
My heart began to beat, that was a good sign.
Percy looked me over, sighing to himself.
"As long as you don't cause any real problems, being a high school drop out and all.. I don't see any issue, with hiring you. Can you start, next Monday?" He asked me.
I grinned at them.
"Yes sir! Oh thank you so much!" I said shaking both of their hands.

They smiled back, as I stepped out of the room.
They hired me.
I had a job.
The next step?
Don't lose the job.

**Three years later**

I yawned to myself, leaning against the register as I watched, very few customers walk by.
The music we played, wasn't even up beat, so it was hard to perk up.
Maybe I should of called in.
I mean, its not like they were going to fire me.
I was an excellent worker!
Most days.
