**Luca's Pov.**

Today was my interview at Cilor.
The man over the phone sounded pretty nice.
But, a lot of people sound nice over the phone when they're really not.
It wouldn't stop me from going though.
I had to get away from my school and the monsters in it.

I was a half demon who sucked at defending himself.
I was pathetic.
Or that's what the monsters announced me as.
I also lived in an orphanage.
Which was also pretty pathetic.
Being nearly seventeen and living there looked really bad on my part.
Just.
No one's wanted a half breed.

I didn't ask to be a half blood.
This life was forced onto me.
I was happy being human.
I mean I was a target to a lot of creatures, yeah.
But it was a lot better than being half.

Life might be a lot easier if I had a family.

Jumping at the sound of the school bell.
I raised my head from my desk.
My messy mud brown hair falling to my ears as my green eyes scanned my surroundings.
I was alone.
Thank God for that.

But, why hadn't the teacher woke me up yet?
It was nothing special about me falling asleep in class.
I always fell asleep in here.
I got no sleep at home.

Rubbing my eyes, I stood up adjusting my solid blue uniform before tossing my bag over my shoulder to leave the room.

"Hey Princess, did you sleep well?" A voice asked and before I knew it, I was being slammed into the lockers.
Girls screamed and ran as I squeezed my eyes shut, wishing I had just stayed asleep.
"Answer me you half brat." The voice snapped now.

Slowly opening my eyes.
Blue eyes glowed back at me with irritation.
Brodie.
Henri and Josh were at his side smirking at me.
"No." I answered yelping when he got a handful of the back of my hair leaning my head back forcefully.
"Then stop making us look like dicks in front of the chicks, they think we're the cause of your poor sleep schedule. So stop fucking up, got it?" He asked shoving me into the lockers glaring at me.
I could only nod which made them walk away.
Frowning softly, I looked off.

"Are you okay..?" I heard one of my classmates ask.

I think her name was Luna, she was a demon with white hair and beautiful blue eyes.
She was also incredibly nice to people.
I looked at them as she furrowed her brows at me.
Olive stood at her side, she was a fairy with black hair and lime green eyes.
She was really pretty and looked more like an angel than a fairy in my opinion.

I nodded looking at the two.
"I'm fine.." I lied.
Luna didn't look convinced.
"You can't let those guys beat you up, Luca. You might be a half demon, but I know you're a lot stronger than you let on to be." She smiled sincerely at me.
I looked at her.
"Thanks.." I said starting to walk away.
"Good luck with your interview today!" She said now.
I stopped walking, turning to her with an arched brow.
"How did you..?"
She smiled at me placing her index finger on her lips before walking away with Olive who smiled at me.

I stood there feeling confused, but left the building to get dressed.

When I made it to the orphanage I could only feel my chest tighten.
I was pretty much the only one that lived here that was a teenager.
The rest were children and toddlers.
So I took it upon myself to take care of them.
And when I found out they were getting adopted.
It killed me.
They were scared to leave me, because I was their big brother but I encouraged them to go.
No one needed to be like me.
It wasn't fair.

"Luca's home!" A little girl announced.
She had long curly blonde hair and baby blue eyes.

An angel.
She wrapped her tiny arms around me, she was no older than seven.
Her adoptive parents were coming in two days to collect her.

I smiled down at her.
"Hi, Amelia. Can I get by? I have an interview." I told her.
She blinked before giggling as she moved away from me.
I smiled walking past the kid then ran upstairs to change.

When I finished changing, I looked at myself in the mirror with a tired expression.
I need this job.
It could possibly help me survive the rest of my high school life.

I left the building to only nearly run into a girl in a orange t-shirt and black pants.
She had shoulder length brown hair and soft hazel eyes.
