**Chrys's Pov.**

"Ms.Darkleer, I understand you are interested in adopting Luca. But you need to understand that you must meet the requirements and if you happen to meet them, the total waiting period could take up to a few months or a year or more. It just depends, your home has to be checked out as well as  your financial." The lady told me.
I frowned deeply sitting there.
Percy at my side as he dressed completely appropriate for this sort of thing.
He was wearing a dark blue suit with a dark red tie.
His hair was slicked back and his eyes were hid behind a pair of glasses.

"But with the boy being almost seventeen, shouldn't that ease things for you?" He questioned now.
She looked at him.
"It would given the boys record, but like I said. Ms.Darkleer must meet the requirements, this isn't exactly a walk in the park. I understand you-"

"You keep saying that," I cut her off with furrowed brows.

She looked at me confused as I frowned.
"You keep telling us, you understand. But do you really? Luca is a half blood who has no real hopes of an actual adoption, no one wants such a rare aura like him. They bring nothing but problems, so how could you possibly understand?" I asked her as calm as I could.

The lady was glaring at me now.
"Because my daughter was a half blood before she was taken from me, Ms.Darkleer. I fully know how that boy feels about his aura, you think I don't want to help? I would love for that sweet kid in there to be given a home, but if you can't meet the requirements. There is nothing I can do fo-"
"What are the requirements?" Percy asked her now with crossed arms.
She studied him.
"The person must be at least twenty one, they have to complete the application which you can be helped with. You must share your background and life style," her eyes fell back onto me.
"You must agree with home study which are visits from the staff and child services, you have to let the staff complete a criminal history back ground check on you and attend free training to learn about the issues of abused and neglected children." She explained to us.

"Those all seem simple, I can do all of that right now." I told her.
She frowned at me.
"Like I've told you, Ms. If you were to be approved, it doesn't mean you get him tomorrow. It takes time." She said.

I looked to Percy for help who was frowning at her the whole time.
"And what if I had connections with head quarters that said other wise?" He asked her.
She made a face.
"Then if they allowed it, the boy would be in your custody in two weeks." She told him.

Percy pulled out his phone before looking to me.
"You owe me, Chrys." He said before stepping out to make the call.

I stood there with a grin.

The lady didn't look thrilled I was winning this battle.

"Are you really capable of taking care of him?" She asked me.
I blinked at her question.
"Are you hinting that I can't care for a teenager?" I questioned.
She frowned.
"I am only worried you're going to be wasting your time, half bloods are not easy to care for and-"Stop making him sound like a pet, lady." I hissed now irritated.
"You said you had a daughter right? So did you refer her as a pet to your friends?" I demanded.
"No I-"
"Then address him as Luca or Everest, not as a half blood. He's still human." I told her.

Blushing darkly the woman turned away from me.
Percy stepped back into the room with a frown.

"Its done, Luca will be moved into your home by next Wednesday. If not sooner." His eyes fell on the lady who frowned at him.
"Thank you for your time." He said before motioning me to follow him.
Not even looking back at this lady I followed the other out of the orphanage.

"Thank you Percy." I said looking at him.
Percy frowned at me.
"I told you I would step in if you needed me to, I knew that woman wasn't going to budge with how your conversation was going." He crossed his arms as I looked to the streets.
"But I want you to be careful, taking him under your roof is going to cause a lot of problems given the circumstances of what he is." He explained.

I nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~
"So Luca is moving in with you next week?" Rosie asked cutting open a box then removed some of the coffee cups out of it.
I nodded leaning against the shelf.
"Yeah.." I murmured.
Rosie arched a brow at me.
"Please, don't sound too excited whatever you do." She told me.
I frowned.
"Sorry.. Its just, if Percy hadn't stepped in and called the HQ there was a huge chance I wouldn't of gotten him.. and then Luca would of been trapped there until he turned eighteen." I sighed softly.
Rosie smiled softly.
"Yeah, but Chrissy you're getting him. Isn't that the main thing that matters? Winning him over paperwork?" She asked.
I looked to her then smiled softly.
"I guess so." I grinned.
~~~~~~~
"How's your second day of being a cashier going?" Styx asked Luca in the break room.

The teen looked to him with a soft frown.
"It's going alright, I didn't think people could be as rude as some of the students at the Academy." He said picking at his salad.
Styx smirked at him.
"Welcome to the somewhat real world, if you get a customer like the ones Chrys here gets. Let me  know and I'll come over there." He said with a wink.

I rolled my eyes at the trickster.

"Why are you flirting with the newbie?" Snake asked walking over to our table.
My eyes fell onto the other with an annoyed look now.
Styx glared at him.
"I wasn't flirting, why don't you fuck off with those assumptions of yours?" He snapped.
"How about I staple those lips of yours from cussing at me like you finally grew a pair?" Snake challenged with a glare.

"How about you two chill out? Can you not do that in front of Luca?" Rosie asked with a frown.
Snake glared at her.
"I wasn't aware he was six." He shot.
Rosie made a face.

"And I wasn't aware you could be a dick this early in the day but surprises do happen I guess." She hissed.

"I'm gonna go.." Luca said in a soft voice, not even finishing his food before running off.

Slamming my fist against the table, I startled the other three as I glared harshly.
"Are you fucking happy? It's his second day, was a argument really needed at a time like this? I was going to fucking announce I was adopting him, but you guys had to up and ruin it." I snapped shoving my stuff in the trash.
"How is it our fau-"
"Shut your fucking mouth, Snake. I don't want to hear the bullshit excuses, so stop." I demanded chasing after the other.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Where could he have gone? He's not up front.." I murmured looking around the aisles.
I walked down to the sporting goods, finding Deja wiping the counter before her eyes fell on me.
I don't know if I introduced her yet.
She was our vampire friend, and a very pretty one at that.
She had scruffy black hair and ice blue eyes.
She could pass as a doll if she stood still for once.
"Hey Deja, have you seen a pale boy around here? Maybe about five-eight, has muddy brown hair and really pretty green eyes?" I asked her.
Deja arched a brow at me.
"Oh yeah, he ran towards the hardware section earlier. Looked really troubled." She said.
My eyes widened.
"That's Stan's department, is he here today?" I asked.
Deja frowned.
"He came in about thirty minutes ago, is everything okay?" She asked, concern filling her voice.
Running my hands through the front of my hair.
"God I hope so." I said running towards hardware.
As soon as I made it to the paint section.
I felt my heart in my throat seeing Stan standing there with Luca.
But next to him was someone I didn't recognize.
He was a demon in a higher class.
Luca was glued to his side.
A friend maybe?
Someone Stan had no chance against apparently.
Walking over to the trio, Luca spotted me before looking away.
The hell is that about?
The demon looked to me now.
"You must be Chrys." The unknown guy said with a smile.
I frowned looking at them.
"Yeah I am, I was coming to check on Luca. Who are you?" I asked him.
Luca left the others side then walked over to me.
"He's a friend, can we go back to work?" He asked me.
I didn't like how his voice was shaking.
"A friend I have yet to be introduced to, who are you?" I asked before feeling my chest tighten.
Well that's a feeling I haven't felt in a long time.
He was a high blood.
But was class?
"Sly Thomas, and considering the fact you didn't fall to your knees in front of me. I'm assuming you're also a high blood demon?" He questioned.
I smirked softly.
I've kept it hidden this long.
And this guy could tell immediately?
My eyes fell on Luca.
Just where did you find this guy, and why is he here?
Especially, now of all times.
Things may actually get interesting.
