Chapter Six - Radio Interview

9am never used to exist in my books until a year ago. I never woke up before 11am unless my manager dragged me out of bed for an interview. I would blame it on late and sleepless nights. But now I'm up every morning at 7am, and i've come to realise that I've been missing out on a lot. And no matter how late I would go to bed, the overpowering feeling of tiredness would always be the same.

"Hello everyone and welcome back to Radio One! I'm your host Nick Grimshaw, and I'm joined by the one and only Alithea!"

"Hey guys!" I chuckled at Nick's enthusiasm. He had always been by far my favourite radio host.

"Now I've to start off by saying that we missed you Thea! We really did." Nick muttered in a sad voice.

"And I missed you all too. I'm so sorry about leaving unannounced, it all just got too complicated and I had to get away. But I'm back now and planning to stay!" I tried saying with as much enthusiasm I could decipher.

"Don't apologise! We get it. The whole showbiz world is extremely overwhelming. You constantly have millions of eyes watching your every move. It's bound to get too much, especially at such a young age. Anyways, we all got to know... Where an earth have you been?"
I laughed at that one

"Well I've been all over! I visited India, Malaysia, Greece, Brazil, New Zealand and a couple of other countries. I basically went on a trip around the world on my own. Honestly it was one of the best times of my life. I finally had time to myself, time to think and figure out what I wanted and where I was going"

"And time to write and produce a whole album!" Grimmy added.

"And that too." I repeated.

"Did you do everything on your own?" The look and Nick's face was priceless. He had is mouth hanging open and his eyes wide.

"For the most part I guess. I did all the writting. I wrote most of it on the road even though I did use some of the old stuff from my lyric books. And during my time in New Zealand I booked a recording studio to record and produce most of the songs. But, except for guitars, piano, bass, and the harp, most instrumentals were recorded by Steve Price and his team. Shout out to them!" I whooped.

The interview went on for another half hour or so. He asked various questions about my album inspiration, my upcoming tour, we even played a couple of games and pranks.

"So Alithea, I have something to ask you..." Nick trailed.

"Shoot"

"Are you single?"

"Ah I knew this was coming up!" I exclaimed "But yes I'm a single pringle!" I let out a small smile to Nick's expectant face.

"Because you see, we had the 5sos boys in here a couple of days ago, and a certain drummer admitted to having, and I quote 'an itty bitty little crush' on you."

I giggled at his rendition of the australian accent. "I saw that! My twitter blew up! People even started texting me! Ashley, well Halsey, even talked about coming round to have an 'asheducation' session whatever that means."

"Well you'll definitely have to tell me more about that when you find out. He said he didn't even think you knew who we was. Is that true?"

"Of course not! I love 5 seconds of summer! I went to see them live when I was like 16. It was honestly one of the best nights of my life."

"Well I would love to hear that story next time we see each other because sadly we're out of time. But I'm sure Ashton and the boys will be happy!"
