Chapter 11

Shortly after Barry left Y/N had been called to another fire, this time in the newer part of town, it was a rather large building fire. Just as Y/N arrived on the scene she was informed that a firefighter had been trapped on the 5th floor.

"Wow, two firefighters in one day, you must be lucky," Cisco joked into the comms.

"Very funny, Cisco," Y/N replied, she made her way around and then saw Chase, this time stuck behind a collapsed wall, Y/N made a pathway to him and made sure that he was okay.

"You need to get out of here," she said over the smoke and flames.

Chase coughed, but nodded and made his way out, Y/N just behind him when a loud noise sounded from above, Y/N looked up and saw a giant steel beam falling, she pushed Chase out of the way...only to have the beam fall on her...trapping her.

"Go!" Y/N yelled at Chase, he stood there, a dumbfounded look on his face, he was unsure of what to do, did he go and leave her to die like she said, or should he try to save her and possibly die in the process. Chase knew that she would want him to save himself, just as any other hero would, so he left, went through the past she cleared earlier and made his way out of the building. Once outside, he saw the other Flash evacuating people and getting them to safety.

"Flash!" he called out, Barry immediately turned at the sound of someone calling his name, "I need your help, it's the other Flash, she's trapped on the 5th floor, I'd tried to get to her but the flames are too strong," he explained.

Barry listened, "You said the 5th floor?" He asked, looking up at the building before him.

Chase nodded, he was then pushed back by Barry racing off to the 5th floor to get to Y/N, as fast as he knew how.

"Barry, wait!" Caitlin shouted over the comms, "The fire is too big, you won't be able to put it out, the smoke that your inhaling is dangerous Barry," Caitlin warned.

"You don't think I know that I'm trying to find Y/N," he explained as he cautiously made his way through the fifth floor, avoiding the flames as best he could.

"We tried to reach her, her comms must be damaged," Cisco told Barry, "You're going to have to listen for her."

"Yeah, I know, and it'd be a whole lot easier if I didn't have to listen to you as well," Barry said back.

Cisco sighed and muted the comms for the time being.

"Y/N!" Barry called out over the flames, only hoping that she would be able to hear him. He rounded a corner and saw her, a part of her body was trapped beneath a steel beam that must have fallen when she was rescuing Chase.

"Y/N!" Barry called again, but she could barely hear him.

"Barry," she called out weakly before losing consciousness.

Barry tried to get to her, but the flames were in the way, and the smoke was too thick for him to handle much longer.

"Guys, I can't get to her," Barry told the team.

"Uhh...what do you mean exactly?" Cisco asked.

"I mean I can't get to her Cisco, she's trapped under a steel beam, and behind a wall of fire and smoke, I can't do this, I can't save her."

"I might be able to," Cisco said getting up and reaching for his breacher gloves.

"We got her Barry," Julian said nudging Barry out of his way. Cisco had been able to vibe a breach open right next to Y/N, he was able to pull her out and bring her back to the med bay.
