Chapter 29

The trio had well overspent their stay on Kara's Earth, luckily for them, time fluctuates throughout the multiverse. A week spent on Kara's Earth was barely a day on their Earth.

Oliver breached straight to Star City while Y/N and Barry arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry was able to walk on his own now, though he still was unable to run at superspeed, something that bothered him a great deal.

The Cortex was empty upon their arrival.

"The team is probably downtown helping with the aftermath of the building collapse," Y/N said walking past Cisco's empty computer array.

Barry nodded, "I'll stay here, you go down there and help them, I'll be fine," he said forcing a smile to Y/N.

Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck, "You're sure?" she asked.

"Yeah, go be a hero," Barry answered.

"I'll hurry back, I love you," she said pecking his lips quickly with her own, she went to turn away only to be pulled back by Barry's hands on her waist.

He pressed his lips against hers a little while longer this time, "I love you too," he added.

Y/N ran downtown and saw Cisco, in his suit, he ran to her.

"Hey, you're back," he said hugging her.

"It's good to be back," she replied. "We spent a little over a week on Kara's Earth-"

"But due to the time fluctuations it's less than a day here," Cisco finished for her.

Y/N nodded, impressed by his knowledge of the timestream and the multiverse.

"Oh, go to the S.T.A.R. Labs van, it's parked just outside of C.C. Jitters," Cisco explained handing her the keys.

"Wait, why?" Y/N asked confusedly taking the keys from Cisco.

"Just go, trust me Y/N," he said walking away.

Y/N followed his instructions, she opened the door and saw a Flash suit folded neatly in the driver seat, with a note attached to it.

Consider this an upgrade

Y/N smiled as she read the note before setting it to the side. She picked up the suit and examined it, the newly added gold accents looked nice, she admired Cisco's handiwork.

Y/N raced back to what was once the Wayne Tech building in her newly designed suit.

"So, how long do they estimate this cleanup to take?" Y/N asked as she approached the team.

Julian shrugged, "A few weeks at best, reporters are having a lot of fun with this, they're looking for you," he explained. "But the police also want a statement from the Flash," Julian added.

Y/N nodded, "Good to know."

"How's Barry?" Caitlin asked, a sense of worry in her voice.

"He's at S.T.A.R. Labs," she replied. "He's recovering well, but he's still having trouble with his speed," Y/N explained.

Caitlin nodded along, "Kara's sister Alex sent us a full report of his injuries, and his recovery."

"What do you think about it?" Y/N asked her.

Caitlin shrugged, "I think this is more emotional than it is physical for Barry," she replied. "But I think that the best person to figure it out is you," she said looking point blank at Y/N.

"I know, and I'll try but right now I have a very important person to speak to," Y/N said walking over to Captain Singh.

"It's about time you show up," Singh said looking relieved. "People have been going crazy after seeing you rise from the rubble looking the way you did," he explained. "Speaking of which, how are you here and perfectly fine?" he asked. "And with an outfit change apparently," he added.

"That's a long story," Y/N replied. "One that neither of us has time for. Now I have some questions for you Captain, starting with casualties and injuries caused by the collapse?" Y/N questioned.

Singh chuckled, "None, no civilian was even scratched by what happened, even the girl you saved on the roof says that she is perfectly fine...it's impressive, hell, it's impossible," he said.

She knew that was false, Cassidy Freeman was killed by Clifford Devoe, however, her body would more than likely not be recovered under the debris.

Y/N smirked at Captain Singh's comment, "In case you haven't noticed, Captain, I am the impossible..."

Singh scoffed, "Is that your new catchphrase?" he joked.

Y/N was about to respond when Captain Singh's Lieutenant arrived right by his side, "We need a statement," he told Singh, but his stare was focused on the Flash that stood before him.

"I'm assuming that's for me," Y/N said following the Lieutenant.

Y/N finished giving her statement and headed back to S.T.A.R. Labs, the rest of the team had left earlier once they lost daylight.

She walked into the Cortex and saw Barry chatting with Cisco, she smiled and pulled up a chair next to them. They had both been watching television footage of the collapse, the video of Y/N rising from the rubble had been on repeat for the past few minutes while the reporters chatted about it.

"So," Cisco started. "How awesome is my new suit?" he bragged, crossing his arms over his chest.

Y/N shook her head playfully at him, "It's perfect Cisco," Y/N replied.

Barry chuckled, "How'd you make it so fast?" he asked.

Cisco shrugged, "I've had that in the works for weeks, I've been waiting for the right moment," he explained. "And don't think I don't have something for you," he said winking at Barry.

"Thank you again, Cisco," Y/N said standing up, Barry following her lead. "But after helping with the cleanup downtown I am exhausted," she admitted.

"Let's get you home," Barry said lacing her fingers with his own.

Y/N leaned her head against Barry's shoulder as they headed out of the Cortex.

Barry walked downstairs after finishing up one of his cases and saw Y/N on the couch icing her shoulder while she watched the news report of the building collapse.

Y/N smiled as Barry sat down behind her and removed the bag of ice from her shoulder.

"Barr, what are you doing?" she asked softly.

"Shh, just relax," he whispered in her ear as he began massaging her shoulders softly. Her sore muscles relaxing under his touch.

She smiled as Barry continued, she found herself sinking back into him, "This is nice," she said finally being able to unwind for the first time in a long time.

Barry wrapped his arms across her chest and pulled Y/N closer to him, his chest pressed against her back. "We deserve something nice for a change," he said resting his head on her shoulder.

"I couldn't agree more," Y/N replied as Barry kissed her cheek.
