"Y/N?" Oliver asked softly. "Do you want some company?" he asked, sitting down on the steps of the pipeline beside her. She had been down there for hours, her eyes glued to the floor. All she could think about was Barry, memories clouded her mind. She only wished she had been able to make more of them with him.

Y/N had tears in her eyes, though she appeared more angry than she did sad to Oliver. He also noticed how she fiddled with Barry's wedding ring in her hands. The only other thing on Y/N's mind was Clifford Devoe, and how he deserved to suffer for what he did.

"Look, I know what you're thinking right now, I've been through that more than once. I don't know what will help, but what I can tell you is that it's not a good idea to act on those thoughts or feelings," Oliver explained.

Y/N sniffled, "You sure about that, it sounds like a pretty good idea to me," she defended.

"Hey, this is hard on the whole team, now we've seen the full force of what Devoe does," Oliver said. "Now it's time to bring down hellfire on him."

"Oh, I'll give him hell," Y/N said standing up, wiping her tears away while doing so.

"Y/N, no," Oliver repeated, standing up and grabbing her shoulders, turning her to face him. "Barry wouldn't want you to do this."

"I doubt that he really wants anything right now," Y/N said wriggling out of his grip.

Oliver started towards her again, "I won't let you do this," he said sternly.

"Why?" Y/N yelled, the pain finaling showing its toll on her. "If you won't let me do this then explain to me how I handle this...how am I supposed to go tell Joe that he just lost his son? How am I supposed to tell him that I couldn't protect Barry? How am I gonna explain this to the rest of the world? Don't worry, just add another name to the list of people Y/N has managed to kill," she cried. "Explain that..."

Oliver hung his head in defeat, "I know this is hard, but going after Devoe isn't going to change anything, it won't bring him back..."

"You think I don't know that?" Y/N asked harshly. "I would do anything to bring him back. I lost him once, and then I lost him again and again. It's a pretty vicious cycle...so excuse me if this is how I choose to handle my grief...so I have to ask...why won't you let me do this?"

"Because I promised to Barry that I wouldn't let you...I promised him that I'd look after you, that I'd take care of you. So that you don't do something that you're going to regret," Oliver said, tears brimming his eyes.

"I promise you, I am not going to regret this," she said speeding away, leaving Oliver in the pipeline.

Oliver ran as fast as he could back up to the Cortex and found Cisco, Harry, Ray, and Felicity. "Y/N, she's gone, she went after Devoe."

"You had one job," Cisco said rushing to his computers. "She shut off her comms, but I still have her location, vitals, and live footage of where she is," Cisco explained.

They watched on the screens as Y/N approached Devoe's old hideout, the same place where he took Barry and Y/N after he kidnapped them. She stormed inside and saw Devoe, waiting for her, a smile on his face.

"Hello, Mrs. Allen, or should I call you Y/N now that Barry's out of the picture?" he snickered.

Y/N didn't say a word, the frustration boiling inside of her was too much, instead, she charged him and knocked him off his feet and into a nearby pillar.

"Now that isn't very nice," he said wiping some blood off of his face.

Y/N stood stoic, "Well, I can think of a few things you did that weren't that nice," she said punching him.

Devoe slowly backed away, not ready to take another hit. "Are you forgetting how you shot me with an arrow?" he questioned.

"You deserved that," Y/N spat, her eyes brimming with tears.

"You're crying, that's a sign of weakness" he pointed out, he saw her puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks the minute she walked in. "I wonder why?"

"People cry," Y/N explained. "Not because they are weak, but because they have been strong for too long..."

He shook his head, "You're fighting a losing battle Y/N."

"I think that I'll be the judge of that," she said kicking his feet out from under him.

Devoe looked up at the speedster before him, things had changed, she had changed.

Y/N pulled Devoe up by the collar of his jacket only to slam him down once more, he looked up and saw lightning crackling around her body. Much like an evil speedster she once fought, she resembled the Reverse Flash very much at this moment.

"You won't kill me," he managed to choke out.

"You just killed the one person that was keeping me from killing you."

Devoe for the first time was truly terrified of what he saw in Y/N, the anger and hatred in her eyes was something he had never seen before, he was genuinely terrified for his life. Y/N did not hold back and went full force.

"What did she bring to the table?" Harry asked, stunned by the footage before him.

"She brought the damn table," Cisco replied. "The speed force energy levels in her system are off the charts," he added as he looked at the vitals monitor.

Y/N looked at Devoe and for this first time...he seemed scared. She then noticed her hands, there was lightning forming around them, similar to what Thawne did when she got her powers...this is what hate does to a person, she thought to herself.

"Please," Devoe begged. "You don't want to kill me," he said. "Heroes are supposed to show mercy," he added.

"What? You want me to show you mercy, like how you showed him?" Y/N spat.

"Damn, she is kicking names and taking ass," Felicity said as she observed the footage on the screens.

"I understood that reference, and it's not how that goes," Cisco corrected.

"She's not wrong," Oliver said stepping between the two, "Y/N is not holding back." Oliver grew worried, he wanted Devoe dead too, but not before he answered for his crimes.

Cisco understood, "I don't expect her to, I say give him hell." Cisco lost his best friend, he had known Barry since he got his powers, they had been through thick and thin together, losing him was like losing a brother.

Oliver turned to Cisco, "We can't let her do this, we all agreed that killing Devoe wasn't an option."

"That was until he killed one of our own," Cisco countered.

Ray stepped in, "Barry wouldn't want this...and he certainly wouldn't want us to stand by and watch it happen."

Oliver headed for the door, pulling his mask on, Ray followed. They both ran into the building and saw Y/N standing over Devoe, his face covered in bruises and blood, Oliver ran up to Y/N and pulled her back.

"What the hell?" she questioned as Oliver pulled her away. "Why are you here?"

"Because you don't want to do this," Ray intervened. "Barry, wouldn't want you to do this..."

Y/N stopped, dropping to her knees on the concrete, her face in her hands. Oliver crouched down beside her, hugging her. Ray did the same, knowing how hard this was for her, he had lost the love of his life once, and he too was powerless to stop it.

Oliver looked up and saw that Devoe had fled, there was no use in chasing him. No one on the team was prepared to fight him right now, they were all too broken.
