Weeks passed with no word from Devoe. The team grew curious in his absence, though Cisco had a theory that he was planning something, Harry supported the theory. However, the pair had no physical evidence on what Devoe was currently doing, or where he was.
Barry continued to carry on as usual at work, with the occasional glare from Patty every now and then. Joe had disbanded the anti-metahuman task force, he said that the Flashes had it under control, something that Y/N and Barry thanked him for.
Crime rates were down in the city, a few minor things happened, but for the most part, the city was quiet, almost too quiet in Y/N's opinion.
Currently, Y/N was at S.T.A.R. Labs talking with Cisco about alternate realities. "But like, what if I'm rich and famous...what if I have a girlfriend?" he wondered, referring to an alternate timeline that more than likely didn't exist.
Y/N continued to spin in her chair next to Cisco. "I don't know about the girlfriend part, but maybe," she replied.
"What would you do if you weren't the Flash?" Cisco asked.
Y/N shrugged, "I don't know, maybe something with science, or medicine. Maybe I'd be a CSI," she joked.
"And what's wrong with being a CSI?" Barry questioned playfully as he walked into the Cortex, planting a quick kiss on Y/N forehead before sitting down beside her.
"Nothing," she replied, "It was a joke you goof."
"Yeah, well I'm your goof," Barry smiled as he looked into her eyes.
Cisco frowned, "See this is what I want," he said gesturing to the pair. "I want a ship that will turn into a perfect relationship like it did with you two."
"I'm sure you'll find your someone someday, Cisco," Y/N mentioned.
"Yeah, but it's not like I have another version of me to ship myself. I'm telling you I shipped you two from the start and look at how that turned out...I'm like a matchmaker god," he bragged.
Barry furrowed his brows, "A matchmaker that can't find himself a girlfriend?"
Cisco shrugged, "Maybe I'm like some sort of unfortunate fortune teller..."
"Cheer up, Cisco. You'll find somebody," Y/N said in efforts to lighten his mood.
"Says the person who has a perfect husband, and believe me when I say perfect," Cisco said turning to Barry. "I mean look at him."

A few days later, Y/N was walking down to C.C. Jitters to grab something to drink before meeting Barry at the station for lunch. She was casually walking down the street when she heard sirens in the distance.
Y/N turned around and saw a group of squad cars racing down the street. She grew curious and sped into her suit before chasing after them. Y/N followed the squad cars to a crime scene not too far away.
There were two bodies laid out in an alleyway, clearly murdered, at least two gunshot wounds each. Time came to a standstill around Y/N as she assessed the bodies, making it quick so as not to be seen.
Y/N quickly realized that the bodies were warm, the blood surrounding them not yet dried...the killer had to be close. She sped away, searching everywhere she knew, but still...nothing.
Feeling frustrated, Y/N changed and headed back towards the crime scene. By the time she returned, she saw that CCPD had surrounded and taped off the alleyway. She could see Barry beyond the tape, hard at work.
Barry had just arrived at the scene with Joe, he began his work when he heard arguing near the entrance of the alley, he turned and saw Y/N arguing with a uniformed officer who was refusing to let her behind the tape.
Barry hastily made his way over to her, "She's with me," he said lifting the tape to let Y/N in.
"Thank you," Y/N said glaring at the officer who wouldn't let her through.
Barry chuckled, "I told them to let you in, did you use my name?" he asked.
"Yeah," Y/N replied, still slightly angry and annoyed, knowing that she could have just flashed right past the officer before he even blinked.
Barry smiled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, "You're cute when you're angry," he mentioned.
Y/N looked up at him, smirking, "Haha, very funny," she said sarcastically. "What's the story on these two?" she asked as they approached the bodies.
Barry sighed, "Not much, I can't find a trace of any physical evidence, however, the bodies form the letter 'T'. Other than that, I can't find much of anything," he explained. "I might have to get creative on this one."
"We will too," Joe said approaching the pair. "No witnesses, no nothing," he added.
Y/N was about to add something to what Joe said when Patty Spivot approached, "What is she doing here?" she questioned, her glare directed at Y/N.
"She is an incredible forensic scientist and genius, a fresh set of eyes on a crime scene like this could be helpful," Barry explained, defending Y/N proudly.
"She's still a civilian," Patty countered, she clearly didn't want to see Y/N around Barry. "She shouldn't be here."
"We're going to lunch," Barry replied, getting ready to leave the scene. "Or do you have an issue with that too?"
Patty stormed off, clearly annoyed. Y/N smirked at Barry's attitude towards her as they walked away. "You know, you're cute when you're angry too," she said kissing his cheek.
