ara was walking to the rooftop with bora. usually she would be filled with bliss just seeing the gray door. but, this time, it was way too far from that. whenever she would see the gray door, she would only see jeongguk and bora smiling at each other and hear jeongguk's angelic laugh.
when bora opened the gray door, ara felt a slight push from her back. she leaned and saw bora smiling, "jeongguk has something to tell you." said bora. ara's intestines turned upside down. it was such a twist.
ara was frozen, so bora guided her to the bench where her groom was waiting– where jeongguk was patiently waiting for ara. when they reached the bench, bora told ara to sit. she was hesitant but did it anyway.
she missed sitting beside jeongguk.
"soooooo, that guy has something to tell you." started bora but jeongguk gave her a pair widened eyes. they started quarreling between who would say that and those, and it looked adorable for ara. she was envious.
after a few ants crawling on them from their sweetness, bora won so jeongguk would say it. "okay, me and bora talked about what we really felt and turns out i don't like her anymore and she's happy with the life she has," said jeongguk then breathing deeply.
ara didn't know what to feel. angry because her efforts were wasted? happy because she could be with jeongguk again? or pissed because they were playing with her?
"then.. what were those smiles and laughters you guys shared?" asked ara that made bora look at jeongguk. jeongguk was smiling as he found ara adorable.
"i'm gonna go now, i still have my patients waiting for me." said bora then smiling at jeongguk. when bora drifted, ara looked at jeongguk; waiting for an answer.
jeongguk just stared at the skies with ara, then that's when she realized what she just asked. "you know umh never-" she was cut off when jeongguk answered.
"those were all nothing. sure they looked like they had something, but some things aren't really what they look like, ara." said jeongguk with a mocking smile.
"okay, jeon jeongguk." responded ara whilst rolling her eyes. then they finished the day with ara's lame mom jokes and jeongguk forcefully laughing.
but this laughter was different from what he gave to bora. this time, he really felt happiness. a happiness he can't lose again.
