Alison's P.O.V.

"What in the world is..." I say, until water gushes into the room and is soon at the ceiling. I swim down the stairs and try to open the back door and let the water out. The door wouldn't budge and i kept shaking it. I couldn't hold my breathe any longer, but I didn't stop. I furiously kicked the window and when I started to pass out, the window gave up and broke. I was washed away and the fence stop me. Coughing, I stand up. My knees were weak and I just kept falling down. What was in that water?

"Ali...Alison," my aunt is coughing on the ground.

"Aunt Keeva?" I crawl towards her. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"Yes darling, I am fine. But your friend...he's..." Aunt Keeva can barely talk.

"Stay with me. What happened?" I plead as my eyes start to sting.

"Alison. You were such a great kid. I th...thought of you as my own. I..." her eyes start to close.

"Aunt Keeva? Aunt Keeva!" I scream at her. Tears rain down my cheeks.

"Darling. I don't want to lie to you," she says weakly. "The doctor said today was my last day to live. At least I had this special moment with you..." she starts weakly, her eyes closed.

"Please don't..." I sob.

"I love you, my darling Alison," were the last things out of her mouth. She was gone.

"Aunt Keeva? Aunt Keeva?" I lay my head down on her chest. "I love you too," I say whispering.

"The...this is all my fault," Dimitri says. I didn't realize he was standing behind me. His head was down and I couldn't see his eyes.

"No, it's not. Her doctor said this was her last day," I say, still sobbing.

"I just killed her," he said. His eyes were stone cold and his expression...it was depressing just to look at it. What happened to the nice, cute, and funny Dimitri I knew?

"What happened Dimitri? I don't understand," I reach out to touch him.

"Don't touch me!" he yells stumbling backwards. I see his eyes. The weren't cold-hearted anymore, but they were really sad. I get up and grab him, hugging him ever so tightly, like I would hold my siblings.

"Look, she didn't die because you killed her. You didn't kill her. What the doctor said happened. There's nothing we can do about it. The plane tickets are in her car and the bags are too. Let's just leave here okay?" I whisper into his ear. He starts to hug me back then let's go.

"What about your aunt? We can't just leave her here," he says after I let go.

"I will go call the police. They will take care of it. Do you know how to drive?" I ask.

"Yeah, I will start the car," he says. I can tell he is still sad. I look back at my aunt. I hope you are in a safe and happy place now, Aunt Keeva. I think I saw her smile when I opened my eyes.

Running, I sneak into the neighbors house to use their phone.

"911, what is your emergency?" the operator asks. I put on a little girl's voice.

"My mommy is in the backyard, but she not breathing. I don't know what to do. I tried calling to her, but she didn't answer," I reply.

"Do you know what happened?" the operator asks. I make the sound of a gunshot.

"He's here. He's coming for me. He's coming for me. Please help me," I scream.

"Calm down, honey," the operator says. I can hear the terror in her voice.

"No! No! Don't touch me. Please don't. Leave me. AAAAAGGGGGHHHH!" I scream, hanging up the phone while doing so. The police should be here soon.

I run to the car and jump in. Dimitri speeds down the highway and in minutes we are at the airport. We went through the baggage claim and finally got on the plane. I sat in the window seat, he sat on the outside.

"The plane will be leaving in a few moments. Please fasten your seat belts and enjoy your flight," the captain says. And with that, the plane took off.

We have been on the plane for a few hours, but there was still a lot of time left. I look at Dimitri. He was reading one of the magazines you would find in the back pocket of the seat in front of you.

"Hey...Dimitri?" I ask.

"Yeah?" he says looking up from the magazine and sliding his glance towards me.

"How do you get over the death of the person you love a lot?" I ask.

"I don't know. I guess...you think of them as they are in a better place now. And if they were here, they would tell you to stop sulking and lift your head up high," he replies.

"Thanks, and one more question," I say, staring at his hazel eyes yet again.

"What is it?" he asks. His voice is cheerful and so is his expression. I liked that Dimitri.

"What happened with the water incident and the flooding of the house?" I ask.

"The water? You may think I'm crazy but I controlled the water to flood the house. Why? Because the mysterious force came to get you and I," he answers. His expression hardened.

"The mysterious force?" I ask.

"Well...they call themselves the A.O.U. or the Assassination Operations Unit. Their source of power is unknown. That's why they are the mysterious force. They want to use you and me for their unit's work," he replies, his expression getting colder and colder by the second.

"But, as long as we are together...nothing like that will happen. I will make sure of it," I reassure him, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"I will protect you too," he replies, his expression softening and his body, relaxing. I didn't know what made me like him, but I didn't back away from that feeling. I loved Dimitri and would risk my life for him. I smile as I drift off to sleep.
