Aly's POV

Dimitri and I walked through the cold city, snow crunching under our feet. Dimitri hasn't said a word since we witnesses the frozen deaths of his parents. I look at him and start talking, trying to break the ice.

"Soo..." I start.

"I don't want to talk about it," Dimitri replies.

"I just want to have a friendly conversation," I protest.

"I don't want to talk," Dimitri stares at the ground.

"You can't go long without talking," I say. I puff up my cheeks and stuff my hands in my pocket.

"You know, when Riza left when we were kids, I had a dog," I tell him. Dimitri looks forward. I glare at him, but continue talking.

"His name was Prancer, after the reindeer because I loved the story of Rudolf," I smile. Dimitri continues to ignore me.

"One day, Prancer died because I got mad when Riza left and took my anger out on Prancer. I took all the air out of his body and watched him die. I regret it," I say sadly.

"That's a sad story," Dimitri comments. I look at him. He was still looking ahead.

"You know. I really did love that dog. He was like a noisy annoying brother, but I loved him. So I know how you feel about killing your parents," I speak quietly. Dimitri stops in his tracks.

"Shut up," he tells me. I look at him with wide-eyes.

"What?" I ask.

"I said shut up," he repeats. I slap him across his face.

"I was only trying to start a conversation and this is what I get?" I yell at him.

"I never wanted to talk in the first place," Dimitri recalls. I glare at him and look away.

The next few minutes we walk in silence. You could hear nothing but the wind blow around us. I liked the sound of the wind howling. It felt peaceful for me. I knew Dimitri had power over all elements, but Riza was way more power. Dimitri could only manipulate power for a short time though, so he was at a disadvantage. I look at him.

"Can we please talk?" I ask. I get no reply in return. I stare at the ground, until something wet falls on the back of my neck. I look up to see snow.

"How pretty!" I say as I reach out to catch a snowflake. I was cute how every snowflake has its own unique pattern. "I hope Riza is looking a the snow." I smile. She probably is looking out a window right now.

"Aly?" Dimitri says. I couldn't see his face.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Do you think we are monsters?" Dimitri asks. I am surprised by his words.

"I used to think that. But you, Riza, Damien, Alagretto, even Cleo with her shwiney loving self has shown me something different," I look at the sky. I laugh about the Cleo part. "Now I think we are just not your average teenagers."

"Do you think I am a monster. With my split-personality?" Dimitri talks softly.

"No. I don't think any of us are monsters. Damien being smart but called a moron. Alagretto and his make-believe stripper self. Riza and her leadership/toughness stuff. Cleo and her stolen shwiney things. You and your issues of being self-aware of everything inside. None of us are monsters," I reassure him. Dimitri looks at me, then looks away.

"You and Riza? Were ya'll always this close?" Dimitri asks.

"Yeah. We told each other all of our secrets. Even now. I would hate to think that she was hiding something from me," I smile.

"Aly? Thank you," is all he says.

Damien's POV

How I got stuck with Alagretto is not an issue. The issue is that we are running away from a bunch of Eskimo girls who think we are cute. I mean with my charming looks and his...whatever girls like about him, we are awesome. Alagretto pulls me behind a rock. The Eskimo girls run past blindly.

"We will have to stay here for a few minutes," Alagretto whispers.

"So what are we going to do? Make small chat?" I hiss.

"Sure. First question. What do you like about Cleo? I mean she is a stealer and all," Alagretto says. I blush.

"I think Cleo has her own reasons for stealing stuff. I like Cleo because...well..." I say.

"Anytime now," Alagretto says.

"Because she is really cute and I like her personality. I mean she seems like a kid but she's awesome," I blurt out.

"Oh really?" Alagretto smirks. "Wait until Cleo hears about this."

"I already told her," I say. "When we were in Paris." I explain the story.

"Are you crazy? You don't just go randomly kissing girls in Paris. You have to wait for the right moment," Alagretto throws his hands up.

"It felt like the right moment to me," I protest. Alagretto sighs.

"So? Off of me. What with you and Riza? I'm sure the audience wants to know," I sneer.

"This is not a talk show!" Alagretto says a bit loudly.

"FOUND THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!" an Eskimo girl was looking at us. Alagretto and I take off running once again into the night chased by girls.

"I already have a girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!" Alagretto and I blurt out at the same time. We look at each other.

"WE DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!" the girl still follow us.

"Leave us alone!" I yell. At this rate, we were never going to get any food.
