A seventeen-year-old girl who has been identified as Rosaleen Channing was found dead yesterday evening.
The body was discovered by Wyatte Simone, one of Channing's peers from school. His official police report states, "School had just been let out. I was walking home, and it was raining--absolutely pouring--so I took a shortcut through the forest. I don't usually take this shortcut, because it's really creepy. I was walking and I passed this cabin in the woods. And that's when I saw her. She was lying on the ground, underneath one of the balconies, in a pool of blood. I called the police immediately."
Official autopsy reports have not been released to the public, but Channing was found to have several stab wounds to the abdomen and chest, along with bruises and a broken neck. It is unknown at the moment what the exact cause of her death was.
Investigations have already been launched. Police are saying that while they cannot be certain, the most likely answer is foul play.
Our reporters have contacted the Channing family to hear what they have to say about the situation, but we have only received silence in response.
