Adrian's room was no cleaner than the rest of the house. It was impossible to see the floor in most places, due to the excessive amount of clothing and garbage.

Adrian dropped into a beanbag chair in the corner of the room.

"Have a seat," he then offered.

"We'll pass," Aisha crossed her arms.

Adrian only shrugged, reaching behind himself to grab a joint in one hand and a lighter in the other.

If Sam were here, she'd probably cover Evan's eyes.

"So," Adrian said, igniting the lighter, "What do you want to ask me?"

"Are you as much of a compulsive liar as Rosaleen?"

"That's for you to decide, isn't it?"

"I think that's a yes," Lucia said, rather quietly.

"What did you think of Rosaleen?"

"And you expect me to be honest, no?" Adrian paused, sinking further into the chair. "She was a bitch. Runs in the family, I guess."

A harsh silence fell over

"You guys seem uncomfortable," Adrian remarked nonchalantly. "Why don't you just... relax? I didn't kill her, if that's what you're really on about."

"Where were you the night that she was killed?"

"I was right here."

"Do you have an alibi to back up that statement?"

"Huh. Guess not. Momma wasn't in the best of conditions that night. Really... not good. She did just found out her daughter had just snuck out in the middle of the night, you know. For the last time, you know."

Adrian paused for a moment, bringing the lit joint up to his lips. He then continued.

"Tragic, really."

"You're pretty suspicious, you know that?" Lucia snapped, growing more impatient by the second. He was giving them nothing!

"Maybe I am. What are you gonna do about it? I didn't do anything."

"But you're not doing a good job convincing us of that."

"Momma still hasn't let the cops in. Don't think she's ever going to," Adrian hardly acknowledged them. "So what power do the six of you think you have? A bunch of kids... You gonna run along to the police, going on about how you just know it was me?"

Lucia's mouth opened to say something else, but Adrian kept talking.

"Hey, where's Sam at? Haven't seen her around in a while... She hasn't even come by to express how sorry she is for our loss... Thought she would've by now. She was Rosaleen's closest friend, after all."

"We knew that."

"Did you really?"

"You're honestly not making any sense," Lance said.
