also i spent wayyy too much time making this

it was a huge mess of emailing myself, editing photos, and putting everything together

but i think it was completely worth it

lance is in the spotlight baby ;)

8 days short of 6 months. 

That's how long Lance and Rosaleen had been official. Though they were hardly "dating".

Lance recalled his relationship with Rosaleen. Very much, in a way that he didn't quite like. It kind of felt like an arranged marriage, if that made any sense.

Before they were together, they were both among the most popular students. It was basically law that they were together. It simply didn't make sense for anything else to happen.

As a matter of fact, that was exactly what Rosaleen had said when she'd cornered him after school and asked him out.  And he didn't have the heart to say no. He'd been warned of Rosaleen's ways, and he wasn't going to upset her by disagreeing.  

She'd very directly told him that she wasn't attracted to him, but then casually dropped something about how she might be one day.

She never was.

No one knew that, though. At school, she was this close to be physically attached to him. She was glued to his arm at just about every second. She'd sit in his lap in the cafeteria--ignoring the scoldings from the staff--and she'd pepper his face with kisses at the end of every football game.

But he knew they were just for show. He knew Rosaleen wasn't interested in him whatsoever. It showed, in the way that she never contacted him outside of school unless it was absolutely necessary.

Lance also knew of Rosaleen's many other boyfriends, of the ever-shuffling sets of phone numbers she had saved. Thinking back on it, what bothered him the most was that all of those other guys had to know about Lance? Had to know that Rosaleen and him were together? But none of them cared.

Yeah, when he first figured it out, he'd tried to break up with her. He never tried it again.

Lance, just a few months younger and a whole lot less experienced, was just about to receive his first lesson in what it was like to date Rosaleen Channing, most popular girl in school. It was just two or so months into their relationship, and it was after school on a Tuesday.
