They were meeting in the library again. That was what Sam had originally found Lance for. To tell him. Lucia had tracked Sam down, and knowing that her and Lance were at least "friends", had asked her to find Lance and inform him as well.

So after school, they were back in the library.

Seated around one of the tables, Sam definitely noticed that something was up with Wyatte. He seemed... way happier than usual? Sam didn't really know how to explain, but Wyatte hadn't snapped at anyone yet and he just generally looked like the weight of the world had just been lifted from his shoulders. And, Sam was also pretty certain that she'd seen him smile?

Everyone else had to be noticing this, right? She glanced around, but everyone else was rapt in conversation, talking about what to do next.

And Sam didn't want to be "that person", so she didn't say anything.

"Sam? Evan? What do you have to say about that?"

Sam's heart nearly jumped out of her chest. Everyone at the table was staring at her and Evan expectantly. Lance's head was tilted slightly to the left, Aisha's eyebrows were raised, and Arthur was drumming his fingers on the table.

"I-I'm sorry, I wasn't listening," Sam said quietly, "About what, exactly?"

Evan glanced over at her, "They were just talking about coming to our house this weekend, to discuss everything. We can show them any interesting diary entries that we find."

Right. They hadn't went through the diary together yet. Sam cleared her throat, remembering that she needed to take out her trash when she got home.

"Of course. We can always tell our parents that we're studying."

Evan always reacted a little weirdly when Sam said something about "our parents" or "Mom" or "Dad". Sam understood, but at the time, she didn't understand. Evan always referred to them as his parents when speaking, but Sam imagined it was different when other people said it.
