Chapter 9. Adopted? (Edited)

School was a disaster! After the whole Colten incident, everyone seemed scared to be around me. Even Jackson acts different around me!

"Today was a total bust!"

"I know! I can't believe I missed it!" Ryan whined. I walked home with Ryan and Lukas. I wonder how Willow's day was? I hope her day was better than mine. When we got to my house, Lucy and Alexis were talking to Ms. Violet. When did she get back?

"Hey guys."

"Hey!" I hugged Ms. Violet.

"Did you have a good day?" She asked.

"Yeah, it was pretty good." I lied.

"Good? Was it really?" Lukas linked me.

"Shut up!"

"Where's Willow?"

"She's grounded. She got suspended today."

"What?!"

"We'll tell you about it later."

"What did she do?"

"She threatened the principal!"

"Wow!"

"Yeah." Then I hear the phone ring.

"I'll get it." Ms. Violet said. As soon as she was out of earshot I turned to Lucy.

"How could you let this happen!"

"Her principal was stepping out of line."

"That's not the point ugghh."

" Zek." Ms. Violet said from inside the house.

"Yeah!"

"May you please come inside. We need to talk."

"This talk is not over." I hissed, pointing at Alexis and Lucy. The guys growled as they held their girls close. I went inside to find Ms. Violet facing towards the phone.

"You called." She turned towards me with sad eyes. "Willow's been adopted."

"What?! I-"

"And so have you." I froze in place. We've both been adopted by who. "A man named Darren Cave said he wanted to adopt you both." Alpha Darren adopted us. That means.... She pulled me into a hug.

"What about you? I can't just leave you here!"

"I remember the day we first met. I was a friend of your mother and was told I could never have children. I didn't expect to find children so quickly. When they said you were Helen's children, I was so excited. When you came, you refused to let me hold your sister, even though you had no clue what to do sometimes but you never let me touch you or her. It took weeks for me to gain your trust. That was the best day of my life. Just remember no matter where you go or what you do in life. You and Willow will always be my children. I love you so much."

"I love you too."

"Go tell Willow and then pack your stuff. He's coming to get you guys at eight."

"Okay." I go into Willow's room and find her playing on the floor with Caleb.

"Hey Will. I heard you got in trouble."

"Yeah, but it wasn't my fault."

"I know. I need to tell you that, Alpha Darren adopted us."

"REALLY!!!" She screeches.

"Yes so go pack your stuff he's coming at eight."

Alpha Darren arrived at my house at exactly eight o'clock. With Ms. Violet's permission, Lucy, Lukas, Alexis, and Ryan, helped us pack and get ready. Once we finished we ate pizza and hung out. When eight o'clock hit there was a knock on the door. There was Alpha Darren standing there. He was dressed in a nice suit and for the first time, he did have a hard experison on his face.

"So you must be Mr. Cave."

"Please call me Darren."

"Okay, well, Zek and Will are ready."

"Zek! Will! It's time." She said. We held our bags as we walked towards Alpha Darren.

"So, are you guys ready to go."

"Yeah." We said. We started towards the door before Willow said

"Wait!" We stopped as she turned and gave Ms. Violet one more hug.

"Don't forget to tell Caleb about his big sister."

"I won't." She held her. As soon as they finished hugging we put our stuff in the truck. Ryan, Lucy, Lukas and Alexis followed us out. They said they were going to meet us at the cave. Once our stuff in the car, she hugged me one last time and asked me to promise her something, her final words to me. I nodded as she kissed my forehead.

"I love you guys." She said. Then we drove off as we waved goodbye out the window as we listened to Caleb's crying fade away.

"Hey Zek!" A voice said. I had just finished putting my stuff in my new room. I flopped on my bed the tiredness catching up to me. It's gonna be strange living with a bunch of different people. I look up to see Willow standing in my doorway.

"You keep doing that weird spacing out thing? Is something wrong?"

"No. I'm fine. What were you saying?"

"Alpha Darren told me to tell you that we start school next Monday."

"Alright."

"Can I sleep with you?"

"Sure." She ran and climbed on my bed. After a few minutes of silence I heard Willow mumble

"Are we ever going to see them again?"

"Sure we can. It's not against the law." I yawned. "I'm sure they will be just fine." I went to sleep with Ms. Violet's last words playing in my head

"Promise me that if something happens to me you will take care of them both!Make sure that the three of you stay alive, okay."
