Chapter IV: First Day, First Trouble

Rain's POV
      Morning comes, i'm on my way to the Great Hall for breakfast. Hermione said Harry and Ron was already there, i said i just wait for her but she insist i'll go ahead. I opened the door and saw Harry and Ron talking to each other.

      "Hey there Rain, Good Morning" said the twins behind me.

      "God, guys you gonna give a heart attack." they just laugh then we headed to where Harry and Ron are sitting.

  "Morning Rain" Harry and Ron greeted. "Morning" i said happily.

         Me and the Trio have the same classes. It's not long enough when Hermione arrived. We ate breakfast while chatting telling me what stuff i can and can't do inside the school.

      "Good Morning Ms. Lancaster" a cold chilling voice came from behind i turned around with toasted bread on my mouth then smiled at him.

"Good Morning too Professor" still have a wide smile on my face.

"Weasley's, Potter, Granger" he glance at my companions. "Professor" they said in unison.

   Bat man just nodded and he left to his chair and eat his breakfast. I can still feel his stares on me. Just ignored it.

"That was new" said the twins.

    "Yeah it's the first time he greeted a group of student and he even greeted Harry who he despise the most, no offense Harry" said Ron

"None taken" he replied.

      "Divination is at the North Tower" Hermione said. We grab our bags and before i go, i glance at the high table. He's still staring. When will he stop doing that. I smiled at him and run towards the trio. We arrived at the room and sit infront. We met Professor Trelawney the Divination teacher. This would be fun.

*Minutes Later*

     I take back what i said, not that bad actually but not my kind of thing. Even Hermione, who popped out from nowhere, walkout at class. She predicts futures using leaves. Harry sees a black dog in his tea cup which Professor Trelawney identifies as the Grim, the omen of death. I look at Harry, he seemed worried.

      Divination class ended and we made our way at the transfiguration class which under Professor McGonagall. Harry told her what Professor Trelawney predicted on his tea cup. Professor McGonagall assures Harry that Professor Trelawney has predicted the deaths of  a number of students, none of whom have died.

     After Transfiguration we headed to the Forbidden forest for our Care of Magical Creatures. Where Hagrid gonna teach us about the hippogriffs.

"Hey Potter is it true you fainted yesterday?!" a boy with white hair.

"Oh no here we go again" said Neville behind me.

"Who is he?" i ask Neville. "Draco Malfoy, he's a bully" Hmmm Malfoy ha. He has a look but he's a jerk.

"Shut up Malfoy" Harry shouted back.

"Or what Potter" he said smirking. Then his face suddenly change, fear? Nope Malfoy i won't buy that. "De-Dementor, Dementor" he said looking above Harry. Harry look above then Malfoy together with his lackeys laugh out loud.

     I glared at him, he glance at me and when he realized i'm glaring at him he immediately look away with a little hint of redness on his ear.

"Looks like someone has an admirer" whispered Hermione teasingly. I shrugged and said "Not my type" and we chuckled.

      Hagrid introduced us to Buckbeak the hippogriff. Hagrid called out for volunteers who want to ride Buckbeak. Harry and I left in front. What the.! "Okay then Harry" said Hagrid. Although initially nervous, Harry approached and ride Buckbeak.
     
  Later in the lesson, i noticed Malfoy, who is not listening to Hagrid's lecture, insults Buckbeak which is a wrong move. Hippogriffs are immensely proud creatures so dont do something stupid like what Malfoy did. He's about to attack Malfoy with his talons when i pushed him out of the way. The result it got my arm instead of Malfoy. Hagrid immediately rescued me.

"Are ya alright Rain" he assist me as i stand. "Yeah pretty fine just small bruise" i said and look at Malfoy who is still on the ground saying "He tried to kill me" repeatedly.

"My father will hear about this" he added. I rolled my eyes and say "Oh shut up, If you just listening to Hagrid and didn't run your stupidity, he wouldn't attack you, you idiot" i said and leave them dumbfounded.

      The trio escorted me to the hospital wing to treated my bruises. I told them to wait for me at the Great Hall for dinner. After Madam Pomfrey treated me, i left the hospital wing.

        I was walking silently at the corridors to the Great Hall when i felt someone beside me.

       "First day, first trouble Ms. Lancaster?" said the Bat Man. You can't trace any cold on him right now all i can see is a normal Professor talking to his student.

      "If that's what you called it after i save Malfoy from his stupidity, then yes" i said without looking at him. He never replied then silence overtake us.

     "Well then, i suggest you must take more extra careful next time" I didn't answered because he walks fast and entered the Great Hall first. We are laughing at the twins joke and enjoying our dinner when they stop and stared behind me.

      What now?! I turned around to see Malfoy standing infront of me. "Good evening" he started. I just stared at him. We begin to draw some attention from the other student.

        "I, I just wanna say thanks about earlier and sorry too" i raised an eyebrow at him. He just stand there probably waiting for my reply.

"[sighed] okay you're forgiven just don't do anything stupid next time" i said and turned around facing my meal. I saw him take his sit at their table.

     "Can this day get weirder and weirder" said George. "Yeah first Snape then Malfoy" said Fred wondering.

     I didn't bother to answer coz for me it's normal. "What is it in you that changes people here" said Ron I laughed at them.

"Nothing just trying to be kind and fitted in, ya know" i said. "What ever it is, it's good right" Hermione. Hope so i said to myself.

      And here comes the stare again. Could he just stop doing that. Aaargh can't bare it. Little patience Rain hold your temper. I stood up "I gotta go so many homework to do, I'll see you all at the common room" i said leaving without their answer.

      I pinched the bridge of my nose as i take off my reading glasses. Then the portrait opened revealing the trio together with the other gryffindors.

"Hey you alright" Hermione ask me and she sat at the couch near the fireplace and open her book.

"Yeah just bit of a headache but i'll be fine" i said closing my books and parchment and get it inside my bag. I sat down next to Hermione.

"So what do you say about your first day at Hogwarts?" "Satisfying i must say" she chuckled to my answer. "And lucky i have you guys" i said closed eyes and feel the warm of the fire.

     We stayed there for a couple of hours helping Ron and Harry on their homework. It's past midnight when we are done. I bid them good night and went straight to my bed. I didn't bother changing my clothes coz i'm really really tired.
