Chapter 13

Rose:

I wake up and look at the time on my phone. 3:35 am... *sigh*, I go to the toilet and think about what we can do today.

When I come back I look at the boys.
Aww Niall is so cute when he sleeps! Louis lays completely under his sheets, Liam lays as you would expect someome to lay when they're sleeping and Harry.. Well, where's Harry?

Maybe he went to the toilets. I go back to my bed and watch if Harry comes back or not. I think something is wrong with him. He didn't act like himself tonight.

After ten minutes I got searching for Harry.

I meet him crying outside his mother's room. I give him a hug and ask what's wrong.

"I.. I had a nightmare about my mom. I woke up and went to see my mom, when the doctor came. He said something terrible", Harry says crying.

'Would you like to tell me what it is?'.

"Yes... My mother has.. Has cancer...", and Harry's still crying.

I feel so bad for him. Harry is a sensitive person. He cares a lot about his family. And since he doesn't have a dad, it's extra hard for him.

I give him another hug and we talk for a bit before we go back to our room to sleep.

Before I fall asleep I think about how I can ask Liam about his cut tomorrow. I would love to help him, but he would have to accept my help it first.

Liam:

'How should we tell this to Rose?'. Louis: "It's not that bad".

We hear someone move and immediately stop talking. After a minute we continue.

'True, but it's also not really good'. Harry: "It's only an operation on his chest. It'll make him better. They're quit sure he'll survive it".

'There's still the 25% change he won't survive it'.

We hear someone move again and we stop talking.

Who won't survive it?", a sleepy Niall asks.

'Niall ssht! We haven't told Rose yet. We don't know how to tell her'.

"To tell what?".

'Her brother is going for a chest surgery'.

"Oh, I'm sorry".

'It's okay Niall, you couldn't know it'.

"When are you going to tell her?".

'As soon as she wakes up I think'. 

*3 minutes later*

We watch Rose as she slowly wakes up.

"Good morning guys".

'Morning Rose', I say with a sad twist in my voice. I tried to hide it, but I couldn't.

"Morning Rose", the others say as well.

"You sound not really good Liam... Are you okay?".

She now sits straight up in her bed.
I look at the boys, they nod as to say I've to tell her.

I'm afraid for her reaction, but she has the right to know it.

'Uhm Rose?'.

"Yes Liam".

'We have kind of bad news for you...', and I quickly look down.

"Tell me please", she says with a high voice.

"Are you guys gonna leave me?", and she looks down, so we can't see her tears.

'No, no we won't leave you!'. I go sit down on her bed and lay my arm around her. 

'It's about your brother', she looks scared at me.

"I.. Is he dead?".

'No, he isn't'.

'Guys, would you leave the room please, I'll talk to Rose'.

"Sure", and they leave the room.

"If you need anything, I'm here for ya", Harry says before he closes the door behind him.

"I.. Is he going to die?".

'They're not sure. There's 75% he'll make it. He's having a chest surgery right now'.

"Did... did he woke up?".

'Yes... He had a lot of pain. They made a scan and saw some blood in his chest. But the doctors think he'll make it'. I see a tear escaping her eyes and I give her a hug.

"When are they finished with the surgery? When can I see him?".

'I don't know. The doctor will come to our room when he's finished'.

"Liam?".

'Yes Rose?'.

"Are you and the boys gonna leave me when Paul is better and my family isn't?".

I hear sadness and hesitation in her voice.

'No, we won't leave you untill your mother or father is better'.

"Thank you Liam", and she hugs me.

"Now we're here with the two of us, I wanna talk about you please...", she says slowly.

I immediately know what she's talking about and look if my bracelet still covers my scars.

I slept the whole night with it. Luckily the boys haven't noticed anything.

Rose sees I'm looking at my bracelet and covers it with her hand.

"When did you do it?".

'Two days ago...', and my feet are very interesting. I can see she looks shocked.

"At my home?", she asks with shock in her voice.

'Yes... sorry', I say feeling ashamed.

"Oh Liam boy", and she hugs me.

"How couldn't I know it?",

'I did it when you said I could wait upstairs'.

"Louis knows it huh?".

'Yes', and I look at her with a how-do-you-know-that face.

"Louis sounded really afraid when he said he wanted to check in on you. When you guys didn't came downstairs after a few minutes I wanted to have a look, but Harry told me not to go. He said you would come back within ten minutes. And if that wouldn't happen, he would have a look. So I didn't come... But why did you do it?". 

The door opens and Louis comes inside. Yes, luckily he can help me.

"I forgot my phone", and he turns red.
He probably saw Rose's hand placed over my bracelet.

I send him a help-me-out face. Luckily he sees it before I walk away.

"Uhm, Niall is hungry, should we go for breakfast?", Louis asks.

Rose:

The door opens and Louis walks in. Luckily.

"I forgot my phone", Louis says and he turns red.

I see Liam sending Louis a help-me-out face.

I see Liam doesn't wanna talk about it today.

"Uhm, Niall is hungry, should we go for breakfast?", Louis asks.

'Sure! I'm hungry too'. I look at Liam.

'Would you like come with us?', I ask him.

He looks surprised. Probably because I stopped the conversation. But he says yes.

We all walk downstairs to the restaurant of the hospital to have breakfast.
