Surprise (English) ft One Direction & 5SOS

Chapter 15

Rose:

When I walk out the toilets, I see Calum.

'Hi Calum!'.

He turns around and I look strait into his eyes which are filled with tears.

I scare and don't really know what to do now.

'Do you want to talk somewhere without the others?'.

"Yes please", he says with a shaky voice.

We walk to my room and I lock the door behind us.

'So, what happened?'.

"I.. it's...", I see a tear rolling down his cheek and I stand up to get a glass of water.

I give him the water and he takes a nip.

After he took a deep breath, he continued his story: "Luke had a car accident and is in a coma", he says in one breath and I clearly can see it's hard for him.

I give him a hug and ask if he wants to visit Luke.

"If you don't bother to see me cry...".

'No I don't Calum', I say with a small smile on my face.
'Every boy, how big or strong they are, cries sometimes'. He nods affirmatory .

He stands up and something falls on the bed.

'Uh Calum, you forget something...'.

"No it's not mine. It's Harry's".

'Wait what!', I say it louder than I meant to and I see he scares.

I scare from my own reaction as well and tears spring in my eyes. I quickly put my hand on my mouth before I can say any more stupid things.

"Calm down Rose. It's okay. He held it behind his back when I met him in the toilets this morning. I just found it on the floor. I was in shock too when I saw it. Maybe it's better if we take him apart and talk to him, than that we talk to him with the other boys around".

'Yeah, I think that's better and easier for Harry. I think I know why he did it...'. Calum looks expecting at me.

'His mother had a surgery yesterday and there was something more wrong, so she has to stay in the hospital. He's very worried about her'.

I see that Calum scares and I can read his mind: oh if I only knew, I could help him. It would be a very hard time for Harry.

'I know it's bad and hard for Harry... He visited his mother this morning for the last time, I guess. Before breakfast. I think he did it after visiting her'.

Calum looks a little bewildered. He probably thinks how'd she know all of this.

'Shall we go to Luke', I say to switch subjects.

His face tenses, but he still says yes.

'Hey, if you're not ready for seeing him now, it's okay. We can visit him an other time'.

"No it's okay, I want to see him. Don't scare if you see him. He doesn't look good", and we walk over to Luke's room.

On our way I ask if Ashton and Michaek already know what happened.

He scares, so they probably don't know.

"Shit, I haven't called them yet". And he starts to panic.

'Calm down Calum, it's okay. They'll understand. Let's call them after we visisted Luke. Than we'll have an update on how Luke is doing', he nods affirmative and calms down.

Luke indeed didn't look well. He had bruises all over him and he also broke his ankle.

He's doing a little bit better.

Calum immediately broke down in tears when we entered the room.

I couldn't hold my tears back in as well and we cried on each other shoulder.

When we both calmed down, we called Ashton and Michael. Both at the same time, cause that was easier for Calum.

They were shocked to hear what happened and both of em would immediately come to the hospital.

After we said the room number we hung up.

The rest of the time we spent waiting on a chair next to Luke's bed.

After half an hour Ashton and Michael both arrived and looked at Luke with tears in their eyes.
