Chapter 18

Liam:

'We're back as you can see'.

"yeah, we see", Niall says.

'But we're not alone. Michael, Calum and Ashton kinda have a problem', and I scratch behind my ear.

'But', I continue.

'We also have good news.

"And that is?", Niall asks.

'We can stay at the hotel as long as we need to!', I say happy.

"Yayyyy", Niall says enthusiast.

Harry smiles as well, finally.

I missed his smiles lately.

"Thank you Lima!", and Rose jumps in my arms.

"What is their problem?", and she points at Michael, Calum and Ashton.

'Well, their car is stolen...'.

"So we can't go home", Calum adds.

"But we settled down something", and Louis smiles.

I look at Michael and he explains the rest: "We stay with you at the hotel".

"Yayy", Rose says enthusiast and she hugs Michael, Calum and Ashton.

"Don't I get a hug?", Louis asks begging.

"Of course you get one too", and Rose walks enthusiast to Louis before she gives me, Niall and Harry a hug too.

Rose:

A doctor walks in our room. "We have some bad news for you guys".

I scare and immediately think something happened with my family.

"You have to leave the room as soon as possible, because we have many patients who don't have a room yet", he adds.

I sigh relieved. 'We will leave now', and the doctor walks away.

Liam takes two keys from his pockets.

"We have two rooms for four people. Rose, you may decide which three of us are sleeping with you and which four take the other room", Liam says.

'Me?', I ask.

"Yeah you. You are the girl, so you may decide", he says with a smile.

I hate choosing!

'But I don't wanna hurt anyone...'.

"You won't hurt us if you don't choose us, right boys?", Liam asks and everybody nods. Except Harry... Since They've come back, he's been absent again.

"Harry?".

"Huh, what?", he asks.

"Never mind", and Liam shakes his head.

'Okay then... I choose Harry, Ashton and Liam. But I love all of you!'.

"It's okay Rose, we love you too", Niall says sweetly.

I look at him. "We really do love you", get adds.

We all walk away and I go walking next to Ashton. He looks pale again.

'When did you eat for the last time?', I ask him gently. He looks shocked at me, so I guess he hasn't eaten today... 

"Uhh... yesterday at dinner", and he looks down.

'Oh boy', and I shake my head.

'If we arrive at the hotel, the first thing we'll do is eat something", and he nods.

'We all are willing to help you, never forget that, okay? Just tell us when it's getting hard and we will help you get through it. We won't make you finish the whole plate or eat something with a lot of calories if that's what you're struggling with. We love you Ash'.

"Thank you Rose. Really, thank you. You're such a good human", he says and it warms my heart.

If we enter the hotel and walk (langs) the buffet table I sneak two pieces of bread in my bag. I look around, but luckily nobody has seen it.

Harry:

I've felt the whole day absent. I hear they others are talking, but I can't understand what they're saying. It just goes one ear in, the other one out.

I don't know why. Or well, maybe I do... Last night I secretly went to my mom. She was in a coma and has arrhythmia.

The thought that my mother is not doing very well is constant in my head.

I grew up with my mom. I can't remember anything of my dad. I can't live without my mom... I'm just 22... I've so many questions left to ask her.

"Harry". "Harry", I hear again and look up. It's Liam. The others are already gone. Where did they went?

Slowly, but surely I remember what they were talking about. They are on their way to the hotel.

"What's wrong Haz", Liam asks worried.

'Nothing', I silently say. It doesn't really sound confident, what Liam hears.

"You were the whole time absent. If you wanna talk, I'm here for you", and he still looks worried.

'Tnx', I say and stand up. I walk to the right.

"Harry, the elevator is to the left".

The thoughts about my mom appear in my mind and I feel tears pricking in my eyes.

'I've to go to the bathroom', I say and quickly walk ahead.

I hear Liam running towards me. "H
..Harry", he says out of breath.

"Please tell me what's wrong. Maybe I can help you", and he places his hand on my shoulder when I stand still. He turns me around and I quickly wipe some tears away.

"Haz?".

'I..My..', and I sigh.

"Is it your mother?", Liam asks silent.

'Y..Yes. Yesterday night I went to her room again. I talked to a doctor and she's doing bad... Really bad...', I take a deep breath before I continue my story.

'She's in a coma and she has arrhythmia', I feel a tear escaping my eye and I wipe it away.

"Oh Haz, I'm so sorry...", and Liam looks down.

I don't want to tell the others my mom has cancer yet...

That last sentence hit me very hard. When I started writing this book in Dutch 2 years ago, I didn't know my grandma had cancer. Writing this book, my grandma is still here. And I'm very thankful for that.

She means a lot to me! She understands me better than my mom does.

Of course I haven't told my grandma about my dark years and stuff, cause she would break down and I don't want that to happen.

She was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. (Don't know if I ever mentioned it before).

I'm so afraid the cancer will come back...
