Prologue
A small baby girl was born on the harsh December night. A blizzard raged through the valley. Sleet banged on the fragile glass. A howl drifted in the night. Clouds billowed over creating a dangerous fog. Fires burned out leaving darkness.
Many would say that tonight was a dreadful night to be born on. And yet a girl was born. The old storyteller, FalconEye knew she would grow up into a terrible being. But the father didn't believe a word the old man said.
Another storyteller, Piper, thought otherwise. "She will help our village be prosperous and flocked by many peoples."
Alas, a dreadful cry broke free and an angry caw, clawed at the window. The woman coughed. "I'm sorry, David. I can't go on like this."
The new mother was dying in the arms of her husband. A shrill wail roared louder than that of the storm.

A silence that no noise could penetrate arose. The slight breath of air slipped out of the mother's mouth.
Her eyes fluttered, debating whether to win or lose the battle for her life.
The man clutched his newborn daughter. Tears fell from his eyes. He wished that he could give her a castle and maids. Anything to keep her alive.

The man took care of his daughter. He helped her and walked with her. Until now when the girl was at the ripest of ages: fifteen.
The father was a peasant. He went by the name of David. He was a hard worker trying to provide for his daughter and himself.
He had a light build, strong arms, and a loving heart. David had brick red scruffy hair. A storm of tanned freckles covered his sunburned face.
The girl was named Annabeth by her late mother. She was almost like her father except that she had dark brown hair. Her brown eyes were framed by long lashes. Annabeth was a courageous young woman, with the midset of an experienced hunter and trader. Her lifestyle was mainly of hunting and selling her furs to her townsfolk.
One thing about Annabeth that her best friend, Jason, never knew is that she wanted to become an assassin...
