Leagiba was five milestones from Anahiem.
Annabeth was nibbling on a strip of meat when she choked. Leagiba was right in front of her.
"It's seems a bit to dark for my taste." Annabeth muttered.
Jason laughed. "Well, lets see who wants deer meat!"
They walked closer to the soot colored buildings. A scent of the Blue Rose perfumed the place.
"Do you realize that no one is here?" Annabeth asked.
"Yeah, something about the air." Jason replied.
An man in his thirties got up. "Please rid me of the place. I want no more in it's horrible ways." Annabeth looked at Jason. Jason shrugged. She pulled her bow off and nocked an arrow. She shot the man in the heart.
"Can we leave now?" Annabeth asked Jason.
"Lets see if others want to be released from this place." Jason murmured.
Annabeth ran back to the man to take her arrow back.
"I don't want to kill, if I don't get something back. It's coldhearted!" Annabeth groaned.
"Well my little optimist lets get going. Ready to turn back and try to reach the Capitol?" Jason asked.
Annabeth nodded. They walked out of Leagiba for all it's worth.
Annabeth still noticed the scent of death on her clothes.
They kept walking though. The scent of the trees brushing the death's perfume off.
"I smell so much better." Jason said as he sniffed his arms.
Annabeth laughed softly.
"Well, I haven't heard that in awhile." Jason commented.
Annabeth blushed crimson. "Stop." She held up a hand. "Listen."
Jason listened calmly. "Are you s-"
"Shhush!" Annabeth groaned.
A quiet but distinct noise echoed off the trees. Soft beats thudded on the ground, Annabeth laid down and set her ear against the dirt.
"It's coming," she looked up at Jason.
"What's coming?" He asked causiously as he brought his bow out and nocked an arrow and pulled it back, waiting to attack.
A white and brown spotted horse trotted into Annabeth's eye sight. She walked up to it ignoring Jason's words.
She held out her hand and touched the horse's muzzle. "It's alright. I wont hurt you, okay?" She breathed into the horse's nostril and rubbed her hand across the silky, soft mane of hair. The horse neighed.
Annabeth looked back at Jason. "Do you want to hear her name?"
Jason took a step back. "You've got to be joking?"
She growled. "I never joke, Jason. You of all people would know!" She started to scratch the horse.
The horse neighed loudly to get Annabeth's attention but she wouldn't acknowledge her.
"Annabeth! Look at what you are doing!" Jason shouted angrily. The horse neighed. "Look, Annabeth, can you tell me her name now? I really want to hear it." He said softer, more kindly.
Annabeth growled but obeyed. She turned back to the horse who now had tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry girl," she whispered. "Her name is Miri. After the mountain flower."
