The middle of the night was when Cross decided he had enough of sleeping. Cross got up and walked downstairs to get some warm milk.

Surprised, he saw Nightmare there too, already heating... something. probably milk. Cross drowsily plopped his head on the table, waving to Nightmare.

Nightmare smiled a bit, something he rarely did. He really must've been up for a while. Cross sighed and got up.

"What're you boilin?" Cross lazily asked. Nightmare checked the kettle and grabbed a mug(man-) from the cabinet.

"Milk, want some?" Nightmare asked. Cross nodded, and Nightmare grabbed another cup(head-) for him.

Nightmare poured the milk and put in some dark chocolate powder. It tastes kinda like black coffee, but silkier. Cross wonders how Nightmare likes it.

Cross smiled and put down his milk. "Why are you up so early?" He asked, attempting to start a conversation.

"Hmm, just doing my job. plus the fact I don't need sleep." Nightmare replied thoughtfully. "What made you wake up?"

"Eh, I dunno." Cross shrugged. "I guess my body just got used to never sleeping enough with him around.

"Hm." Nightmare hummed. "Oh hey, since everyone's asleep wanna share secrets?" He proposed. Cross nodded.

"sounds fun." He commented. "Want me to go first?" Cross asked. Nightmare shrugged, and Cross decided to go first.

"Wait-" Cross muttered, blushing from awkwardness. "We're not telling anyone else, right?" He asked. Nightmare chuckled a bit and nodded.

Nightmare stirred his milk a bit and added chocolate flavouring. Cross drank his milk, thinking of something not too bold, but much less known about him.

"Er." Cross began. "I used to actually "like" Dream," Cross muttered. "That's why I was hesitant about staying with you guys when I got to be friendly with Dream."

Nightmare honestly looked offended by that, which was weird, he never really got "Offended," or at least didn't show it.

"Dream?!" He slightly screeched. "That kid bugs me, and has bugged me for so long, I forgot anyone could even tolerate him."

Cross laughed a bit and took another sip of his milk, Nightmare following. He put his cup down and hummed lightly.

"To be honest, I kinda miss being with him." Nightmare smiled. "Even though my other form is weak, I miss just walking around without everyone attacking me."

Cross nodded and smiled. He took another sip of his milk and sighed lightly.

"Speaking of brothers," He started and paused a bit trying to find the right words. "I really miss Papyrus."

Nightmare nodded. He transformed into his passive form, Cross knew that Nightmare was feeling calm and trusting.

Cross smiled and watched him take a sip. He soon found a blush creep up onto his face, which was much more obvious now that he was in his passive form.

Cross blushed too, he was trying to imagine what he was thinking about, but all he could think of was him having a crush on him.

"No.." Cross thought. "I'm not likeable, or attractive..." His blush went down a bit.

"Y'know.." Nightmare muttered. "You're my favourite skeleton out of the rest of us." He stood up and walked over to Cross.

Cross blushed. This wasn't right, he didn't like him, he didn't like anyone. He blushed madly. Maybe he LIKED liked him, or was that a stretch?

Cross's confused blush made Nightmare chuckle a bit. He pinched his skelecheek a bit, making Cross blush even more.

"You're even cute when you blush." Nightmare smiled, and then grabbed his chin. They were both blushing madly.

Cross leaned in a bit, and Nightmare lowered his face to Cross's, ready to give him a kiss.

Killer ran downstairs screaming. Nightmare turned to his aggressive voice and ran to where KIller was. 

He was looking at Horror, and he was (pretty obviously) pissed. Cross crept into the living room with Nightmare, pretty disappointed.

Nightmare gave Horror and Killer a very angry lecture about them not fighting or screaming when he was "trying to sleep."
