Knock knock.
"Night-"
"Please, shut up..." Nightmare snuffed from his room. Dust sighed, and gripped the glass of water in his hand. Dust was the 2nd closest person to Nightmare, they were almost inseparable at one point. Dust was getting really worried for Nightmare.
"I'm coming in." Dust said, making Nightmare sigh. Dust heard no response, so he assumed he could come in.
Nightmare faced away from the door, hugging himself on his large, comfortable bed. But nothing could comfort him, not anymore. Dust frowned, he hated seeing his best friend like this.
"Hey Nighty, I got you some water." Dust said, putting on a bit of a smile. Nightmare grumbled and grabbed the water from Dust. Dust hopped onto the bed as Nightmare drank a bit of the water. At least he drank something this time. Sometimes, Dust has to force water down his throat. It was easy, since his passive form was weaker than him.
There was a small silence, before Dust decided to ask something.
"There's someone who wanted to visit you today or tomorrow." Dust told Nightmare. "They wanted to help you with.. him."
"I don't need help, I need him back." Nightmare grumbled, looking away. Dust sighed.
"You have so much longer to live, Nightmare. You can't spend your life wasting away in your room." Dust told him. Nightmare looked away, tears forming in his eyes. Nightmare knew that Dust was right.
Dust pulled Nightmare into a hug. Dust wasn't used to hugs, but he wanted Nightmare to feel a bit better. Nightmare sighed, and blinked away the tears.
"W-who wanted to come over?" Nightmare asked, his voice cracked from not being used to talking normally and not enough hydration. Nightmare coughed a bit and drank some more water.
"Dream." Nightmare nearly spit out his water. Nightmare turned to Dust furiously, and grabbed his shoulders. Dust looked at the smaller, unphased.
"Why would you let my- no OUR-  enemy help me?!" Nightmare hissed. Dust shook his head.
"He's not your enemy. He's your brother. He just wants you to feel better." Dust said.
"That's what he wants you to think." Nightmare growled. "He was always an asshole, he acts nice in front of people and then he turns his back to me."
Dust didn't really want to believe him, but he really had never even been around Dream unless they were battling. Dust shrugged.
"Alright, will you let me help you then?" He asked. Nightmare looked away, and Dust already knew the answer.
"It's alright." Dust sighed. "Here, Do you want to visit Cross again?" Nightmare looked back at Dust and nodded.
Nightmare held Dust's arm tightly, and he seemed almost nervous about leaving his room. Dust and Nightmare passed Killer and Horror on the couch, and before Killer could even make a sound, Dust have him a dark glare. Killer retreated back to Horror. Dust sighed and walked out the door with Nightmare.

"Hey Cross, it's me again..." Nightmare mumbled. He looked at the grave, and he placed down some buttercups. They were Cross's favourite.
"I wish I could tell you about what I've been doing, but I really haven't done anything.." Nightmare started tearing up, and soon enough, he was sobbing.
"I'm so sorry.." Nightmare muttered. "I can't live without you.. Please.. Why did you have to die?!" Nightmare fell to the ground, burying his face in the dirt.
"I should've told you earlier.. I shouldn't have done it in the first place!"

A few minutes later, Nightmare came back to Dust. He had dirt all over his face and clothes, and he was sniffling.
"Here, let's get you a bath so you can wash up, okay?" Dust smiled sadly. Nightmare nodded, and grabbed Dust's arm.

Nightmare came out of the washroom with a pair of Dust's clothes. They were much too big on him, but Nightmare's clothes were dirty and he didn't have any spares.
"Hey, Dust?" Dust hummed. "Can you please make me some lunch? I'm hungry." Dust nodded, and went downstairs. Dust couldn't help but smile. This was the first step to recovering, finally having his appetite back. Dust decided to make something he knew Nightmare liked. He couldn't make sushi as well as Killer could, but he did know how to make it.
Killer walked into the kitchen after a bit, and looked at what Dust was making.
"I thought you hated sushi." Killer said plainly. Dust chuckled a bit, which weirded out Killer even more.
"I do, it's for Nightmare though." Dust said. "Could you help? I don't want it to be awful." Killer nodded, and helped him make a few different kinds of sushi rolls.

"Nighty?" Dust knocked on the door. No one answered, which got Dust a bit worried. But maybe Nightmare didn't hear him.
Dust knocked on the door again, and still, there was no answer. Dust waited for about a minute at the large, darkly-coloured door at the end of the hallway. Eventually, Dust got a bit frustrated with waiting for Nightmare, and he opened the door.
"Nightmare? I'm he-" Dust's eyes widened and he nearly gasped, dropping the sushi that had been prepared perfectly for the king.
Nightmare had the sleeve of Dust's blouse up, and there was a massive cut from his wrist to just a bit over his elbow. The very deep wound had his blood pouring out of it, and Nightmare had already passed out from blood loss.
Dust grabbed Nightmare and teleported to the washroom. Dust accidentally ripped open the medicine cabinet with his magic, but he didn't care at the moment. He found bandages, and quickly got to work patching Nightmare up.
A bit of time passed, and Nightmare was finally all covered up. On his arm, at least. Dust pulled off Nightmare's clothes to find any other open wounds, and found that his body was covered in self-harm scars. None of them were open, but they were all recent and worryingly deep.
Dust re-clothed Nightmare, and grabbed him again. Dust muttered a line of cusses under his breath as he teleported Nightmare to the closest hospital. The two had to wait in the waiting room.
After a stressful 10 minutes, Nightmare was taken into one of the rooms to be treated.
After a few seconds, Dust felt something fall from his face. One tear, two tears, eventually they were falling so fast that he couldn't keep track. Dust covered his face while he sobbed in the waiting room, completely not used to crying at all.
Dust felt a tap on his shoulder, and looked up. A human, who must have been a bit taller than him, had his arms out for a hug. He looked like he had been crying as well. Dust hesitated, before deciding to fall into the human's embrace. The human rubbed his back softly while he let Dust cry.
Dust and the man, Will, let out a small chuckle at one of Will's stories. The two had talked about why the two were there, though Dust felt weird about trusting another person with this information. Will had told him that he was waiting for his mother, who had suffered two heart attacks in the span of thirty minutes. Dust felt comfort in talking with Will, and soon, they knew each other by name.
"Sorry, we're closing visitors for the day." One of the nurses said, interrupting the two's laugh.
"Alright." Will said, getting up. Dust got up as well, and the two looked at each other again.
"It was great meeting you, Dust." Will said, his hand out for a handshake.
"Yea, I wish you and your mom luck." Dust said, shaking his hand.
"I wish you and your friend luck as well." Will said, and the two went their separate ways.

"Dust! You've got a call!" Horror yelled from downstairs. Dust ran from the bathroom, where he had been washing his face, and picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Dust?"
"Yes it is, what's up?" Dust asked.
"Nightmare is ready to be discharged, can you pick him up?" The lady from the other side asked. Dust smiled a bit. "Yea, I'll be there as soon as I can."
Nightmare was standing with one of the nurses there, and he looked a bit... loopy.
"Here are the pills he's supposed to take." The nurse said, handing him a bag. "He's supposed to take them twice a day. Also, he's a bit medicated right now, but this isn't the effect of those pills.
"Alright, thank you." Dust said. Nightmare grabbed Dust's arm, and the two teleported home.

"Nightmare!" Horror yelled, making Killer race down from wherever he was. Dust stopped the two from talking the smaller to the ground, but didn't stop them from hugging him.
Horror started to cry a bit. "Boss- i mean, Nightmare, we were so worried!" Horror sniffed.
"Y-you were?" Nightmare asked, almost like he didn't believe him.
"Of course we were!" Killer said, his voice cracked a bit. "Dust smiled so wide when he got the call you could come home, too."
"S-Shut it.." Dust muttered, blushing heavily. Nightmare sniffled, and hugged the two, then he hugged Dust.
"Thank you.. Thank you for everything." Nightmare thanked, still crying a bit. Dust smiled a bit, and hugged Nightmare back.
"You're welcome." Dust replied.
"I'm going to make some sushi tonight boys!" Killer yelled, and Nightmare smiled. Dust hopes that this happiness will last.
