Rayna groaned and turned on her side facing the wall. That incessant tapping had been keeping her up since she moved into her new apartment. She didn't know where it could be coming from. Rayna sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes in the darkness.

Flinging the covers off her she started for the kitchen. As Rayna opened the door she felt as if someone may be watching her. She stood still in the doorway listening in the 3am stillness; the tapping had stopped. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. She walked with her left hand against the wall, tiptoeing around her boots to her ghost light hanging at the entrance to the hallway. Rayna flicked it on flashing a blue light across her apartment. As she panned a purple hue cast a shadow on her white walls.

"God Dammit!" she exclaimed reaching for her boots and backpack and ran from her apartment. Rayna ran down 4 flights of stairs dialing Jason's number as fast as she could.

He picked up with a groggy, "Hello."

"Jay! 16th and Marigold get here fast." Rayna hastily opened the door to her 1973 Buick Lesabre and got in praying the engine would start. It sputtered to life; she sped down the street as fast as she dared and turned down a dirt road. The air beside her started to quiver and made an inverted popping noise. Her brother, Jason, appeared holding a backpack. "It's much easier to teleport to you when you aren't doing 100 on a dirt road little sis."

"It was watching me Jay, I panicked. I'm driving to the safe house to get supplies, you ready?" Jay nodded. She cut the headlights and pressed her hand into the center console, he did the same. The car began to quiver and made an inverted popping noise as the safe house appeared in front of them. Rayna drove around back and parked.

"Matches can't take much more teleporting." She rubbed the dashboard.

"I hoped he can make it back." Jason closed the car door.

They walked to the tree a few feet away," Ready?" Rayna held up her hands in preparation of the spell, Jason met her hands closing his eyes. Their fingers began to shimmer with light and the air around them started to sparkle and life within the tree awoke shining like the sun. Soon the spell was over; the two reached in.

Immersing themselves within the tree they locked arms as to not get separated into another dimension. Walking through the portal is like walking through a street filled with partially melted ice and temptation. Galaxies and Planets floated around them filled with new discoveries. Rayna had always been tempted to just go and escape the demons of the world she lived in but, although her brother could take care of himself, she could never leave him.

As they concentrated on their destination the world around them took form. Warmth encapsulated them; the ground became solid and covered with grass. Rayna shook the interdimensional travel residue from her hair and tied it up. Springtime on Thandious was beautiful; tall trees, meadows, fresh water springs that gave life to a whole planet. It was magnificent to say the least.

The marketplace they had to go to was just beyond the trees; trees that rose over 10 feet tall and were a pure shade of green like no other. With trunks that housed wild life like no other; dangerous wildlife not to be trifled with but to be gazed upon in awe. Even the squirrels would and could eat you alive.

They rounded the last tree stepping out from the umbrage into the light of two suns. It was a crowded afternoon; carts bustled to and fro, venders standing at shaded booths, children playing, patrons walking and talking haggling for a better deal.

Rayna breathed a sigh of relief seeing a safe familiar place, "go see Sir Thellos for the Holy water, I'll get the other stuff; Entrance in 10." With a nod the siblings parted ways.
