His face was familiar to me
Yet it occurred to me
That if never seen his face before
Only the white mask
Its sharp smile
And dark eyes.
I recognized his hair
Blonde and uneven
Yet it had grown longer
And scruffier still
I remembered that shirt
Stripes around the hem
Long arms and heavy shoulders
The blue jeans the right amount of worn
I remember those shoes, white striped
And the dark gloves.
I have a vague memory of him scarring me before
But now
His eyes
That is to say
His dark mask covered eyes
Now held hearts inside them
And I couldn't help but wonder
How enchanted I might be
If he were to take off his horned mask
And I were to see his true smile
His real eyes
