He asked her to give back
Everything he gave to her.
She picked up hoodies
Tears falling onto their soft fabric that still smelled like him
She took up the teddy bear that still sat next to her pillow.
Unhooked the necklace she wore every day
But as she turned to give him each item
He said no
"No give me back those kisses
Those hugs
The love I gave you.
I want my heart back."
She dropped everything at their feet
"I can't give those back."
Hardly even a whisper.
"Then I want you back."
And she didn't know what she wanted
Anymore.
