A recent trend has been inflating in the MCU lately, and that is the new influx of comedy in their films. Just look at Thor: Ragnarok, it's the third and final of the Thor trilogy, with the stakes higher than ever, Hela (The Bad Chick) has destroyed Asgard and Thor and Loki are the only ones left that we know of. Yet, after all that, it remains the funniest Thor film to date and possibly one of the few Marvel movies officially classed as a Comedy, it never misses an opportunity to crack a pun or two, or three, or ten.

And that isn't the only Marvel film that is obsessed with joking about. Doctor Strange does it too and Spiderman: Homecoming does it even more than Ragnarok. However, that knows to be funny since it's s Spiderman movie. Is how does all of this connect to Infinity War?

Well, for the first half of Infinity War, it's all quips and cracks at jokes from all our characters. Strange and Tony Stark bicker, Spider-Man consistently makes pop culture references and The Guardians Of The Galaxy are...well, the Guardians. Now, if this were any typical Marvel film we wouldn't be surprised as fans have come to expect plenty of humour their movies with superheroes, however, this isn't your typical movie, it's a culmination of 10 years of strenuous worldbuilding, character development, storytelling and many other aspects that moulded the MCU into what it is today. Infinity War is a thank you to us from The Russo Brothers, Kevin Feige and the main cast. So is the comedy needed as it is now an integral part of every film or is it unnecessary as we've been hyping up this huge, colossal battle between The Avengers and Thanos.

Although, there are way more characters than just the Avengers...
